Like to see Maeda on and Jota to switch right. They are getting too much space down our left, otherwise a mighty performance so far.

Our press has been sensational - O'Riley and Giako must be gassed to *.

Obviously still another 45 to go, but we can proud of our performance so far. For a decent chunk of the first half, we genuinely looked like the better side. I know it’s probably an obvious statement when you consider our last few games but our attacking play is incredibly impressive - quick and incisive.

All the guys deserves praise, but a special shoutout for Jenz. I like Starfelt, but Jenz is making a serious case for him partnering CCV going forward.

Scared of jinxing anything, but if we keep up the performance levels in the second-half we’re definitely in with a shout for taking something from this match.

Jenz has strolled it too. He's first choice for me now going forward.

Same again second half and hopefully the goal will come for us…

They will be encouraged by this.. if they can do that for one half… they can do it for two…

The football can work at this level, whatever the outcome tonight. And unlike when you play 10 men behind the ball tactics, the opportunity is there to improve as a team and challenge richer clubs. Not overnight like Ange said, but year on year.

You can see their quality and a team with Madrid’s quality is always going to create chances, but I think we’ve played very well. I’m used to seeing us in Europe barely able to string three passes together but we’re actually unfortunate to not be winning.

They're totaly isolated out on the wings, Real constantly doubles up on them, forcing them to hit crosses into the box.

Positive first half though. Shame about that CalMac finish hitting the post.

CalMac, Hatate and Juranovic the standouts for me the first half.

Great first half really proud of what the did, I think that the changes will be the front three for Kyogo, Maeda and Hakso, Turnbull for O’Reily and Mooy for Hatate

which will allow us to keep the press going for the whole 90 min and RM won’t cope with that, you can see that they do well in the later stages because teams fall away tired and can’t keep the tempo up where as with our changes we will be on them and they will tire I think we’ll do them 1-0 I’d the. 88th Kyogo to score

Would have loved McGregor to have buried that. Sensational strike. So unlucky man!

Some of our one-touch play first 30 minutes was beautiful, and how * good is our ability to play out from the back now? Amazing the improvements from last season.
