Downloaded the demo during the week. It’s definitely different than other FF games. Dodge / block and not turned based makes it more in line with other RPGs. Will be purchasing next week on release

Demo was fantastic however I don't like any of the control layouts, none of them feel natural.

i was more referring to the wait mode in FF15, it still allowed you to take your time with actions without taking hits. Not quite turned based but FF16 seems to have removed that

Is it more like the ff7 remaster controls?

I think it’s a new battle system altogether, hard to put into words. ATB gauge is completely removed. Your companions are all AI controlled, they respond and adapt to your actions. You can flip between different abilities depending on the foe your fighting

Gonna assume the demo is PS only as well?

Anybody else struggling with the controls?

Played the second part of the demo where you have more abilities and its made things even more difficult, none of the button layouts feel intuitive.

Enjoyed FF7 Remake and FFX so this has been on my radar its a toss up between this and Diablo 4 this month, maybe push the finances and get both.

Loving this so far. Story, combat, graphics even voice acting is really top notch.

Had to remap R1 and O on my controller to help with the combat though, and it's helped alot.

Picked up the game today. Changed the controls so they were more aligned with other games Im used to. Just got past the point where the demo cuts off. Loving it even more so now on this play though. Got a hang of the different move sets and following the story now where as before I just rushed through to sample the battles.

Up there with the best final fantasy games I’ve played. The battles are unreal and very cinematic. Only downside to the game is that it’s a little easy, but the story makes up for it

The boss fights are incredibly impressive and only seem to be getting more epic as they go. I'm just over half way into the game and I don't know how they are going to top the previous boss I just completed.

The story and voice acting is some of the best I've seen in a game, up there with Red dead 2 although very different.
The combat is class and flows really well but like you said the game so far is really easy, the enemies need to hit harder and be more aggressive cause its to easy get off combos and stagger them, I'm hoping the difficulty ramps up as I go on.
I will say the hunts do seem to be more difficult and there's like 32 of them in total so I do expect them to get really tough at some point like optional bosses in final fantasy games usually do.
