Is the SPFL same standard as league 1 ?

    It is very subjective though.

I went to a Leeds v Newcastle game earlier this year and wasn't even sure that was the same standard as the SPFL.

I'd say league 1 isn't a bad practice ground, better than the Scottish championship.

I still really like him, I think he has a genuine chance if he manages to get his foot in the door. It’ll be tougher than ever next season so another 6 months on loan may be an option but all it takes is an injury or a good performance in a cup game and he plants the seed that he deserves an extended run.

A season at Hibs, DUTD, Motherwell or the likes is where I would be aiming to send Scott next season to see if he is worth keeping.

He looked decent in his few cameo appearances a couple of seasons back, so it will be interesting to see if he has come on any or is another likely to go next summer.

What's the story with Robbo? I thought he was quite highly rated and might have been involved with the first team this preseason. Maybe with all our options there ange just doesn't see him getting a chance.

No loan for this boy? He looked really promising but we've got an embarrassment of riches now and it's hard to see him breaking through.

Is there not a window where lower league clubs can still add loan players? If that is the case I wouldn’t be surprised if he ended up at Queens Park or someone like that.

I would find that very strange. Wasn't he playing quite well for Crewe last season? I would have thought Broony would maybe have been asking the question about bringing him in.

Maybe not good enough for us but would certainly have thought he could have played at league one/lower championship level given his age and performances last season.

Celtic have told Scott Robertson he won't be offered a new deal this summer with a host of clubs on both sides of the border now chasing the midfielder's signature.

The 21-year-old was informed by boss Ange Postecoglou that he has no future at the club despite being part of the squad which played in Australia at the recent Sydney Cup and is expected to move on next month. Record Sport understands a switch to St Mirren and a possible reunion with old team-mate Scott Brown at Fleetwood Town are options for a player who's enjoyed successful loan spells as Gillingham, Doncaster Rovers and Crewe earlier in his career.

The fierce competition for a first team start at Celtic and frustration at a lack of game time will now see Robertson exit the club. He will decide on his future in the coming weeks with his contract ending in the summer

    Was pretty obvious..

That injury really done a number on him. Hasn't kicked on..

Shame as well. Like so many that looked destined to be first team players for years to come....only to be * by injury/injuries..

Should go down south if Fleetwood keep Brown for next season, would be a good learning experience for him.

Genuinely think he'd be first choice for us if it wasn't for his injury.

Wasn't the update I was expecting after seeing him starting to appear in squad training but good luck to him. Hopefully those loan spells he had line him up for a decent move.

For financial reasons having another crack at playing in England would seem more likely to me.

Think there is a player there but he is never going to get any game time here.

I’m sure he will easily find a club coke the summer. Wish him all the best.

I'd say a combination of bottom of the championsship/top of League one.

Strange decision considering he has been involved in the first team squad this season and was part of the squad in Australia.

Really disappointing because I thought he had the potential to make the breakthrough this year, but we are not party to what goes on behind closed doors at Parkhead.
