I’m not actually sure, but it was definitely the hope/plan at the end of last week that he’d be there today. I’m surprised there wasn’t any footage of him there though.

Thanks @McGrory1888. Ange seems confident he's signing regardless.

Ange broke his own rule there which suggests it’s either done or all but done.

Another good bit of business on paper.

    https://www.skysports.com/football/...g-deal-for-sead-haksabanovic-with-rubin-kazan

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou has revealed winger Sead Haksabanovic is closing in on a move to Parkhead.

The Scottish champions were one of four clubs interested in the 23-year-old Montenegro international.

Haksabanovic has been training in Sweden after a loan spell with Djurgarden and he does not want to return to Kazan

Following a 2-0 win over Hearts, Postecoglou was asked if the deal was close to being completed and said: "Yeah I think that's a fair assessment, it's getting close."

Celtic have seven signings so far this summer, including permanent deals for Jota and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

He is more a winger than a centre mid/no10 mate. He is mikey replacement. We will still go after a CM and Striker before window closes am certain of it, as long as we get McCarthy, jullien and ajeti off the books

No more Mikey Johnson is a good thing for us, no doubt. This guy can play CM too apparently, and has played
there many times before. He looks like he gets stuck in too, which is a big bonus. Need more of them on the books.
Maybe a DM now after this, and possibly another striker if Ajeti can find another club, and we are good to go.

See I had been thinking this too but then read an article from back in 19/20 before he went to Rubin Kazan.

It highlights how good a dribbler he is and interestingly seems to suggest he does have a good burst of pace, or at least the ability to accelerate up to top speed quickly. The major factor it highlights which makes me think may be a reason Ange has gone for him is his off the ball work and pressing is meant to be really good.

It did make me wonder if we perhaps see him as being a good alternative option to O’Riley. Mind you his versatility makes it likely he will play a bit of game time at both.

I hope your right about getting another 2, there’s a bit of me that is thinking that too after Ange’s recent comments.

Hopefully we can move on McCarthy, Julien and Ajeti.

    Totally agree mate.

been saying for weeks we will be sniffing around michut, Mmaee and probably another 1 or 2 incase those 2 don’t come off but I do believe it will be depending on McCarthy, ajeti and jullien leaving as they must be on £45k to £55k a week between them 3

Could work really well as an 8/10 in our system, those players are often playing in the half spaces between the wing and a traditional CM position. So his ability to play central and wide would be excellent

Interestingly the article I read said when he plays as a left winger he more often than not looks to get into that half space coming inside to get shots of and play passes.

Rubin Kazan forward Sead Haksabanovic has arrived in Scotland to finalise his move to Celtic.

Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou admitted at the weekend that a deal for the Rubin Kazan star was “getting close” Postecoglou expects to make the attacking midfielder his latest addition imminently. Haksabanovic is in Glasgow and has already been at Celtic’s Lennoxtown training ground. A deal has been struck with the Russians club and a deal for the Montenegro international is now at the final stages.

The 23-year-old has been a long-term target for Celtic, who lost out on him when he made his big-money move to Rubin Kazan last year. The ongoing attack from Russia on Ukraine has opened the door for Celtic to land Haksabanovic at the second time of asking. The former Swedish under-19 cap had spent time earlier this year on loan at Djurgardens. Postecoglou is still not finished and he is still looking at midfield and striking options.

However, the options up front could be dependent on Celtic moving on Albian Ajeti. Several of Celtic's squad could also be moved on before the close of the window.

The Celtic Park boss told Sky Sports following the win over Hearts “Yeah, we can’t stand still. We’re still building. Every now and then I’ll glance at the diary and, if you go back 12 months, you’re going to have a very different picture of what our football club looked like."

Elsewhere, reports in Greece state that Giorgios Giakoumakis won't be going anywhere amid interest from clubs in the English Premier League and Championship. The striker has acted as back-up so far this campaign for Kyogo.

However, Postecoglou has shut down any exit talk. The report states that several unnamed clubs have scouted the international since January.
