    I really don't think he's a left back. Always looked like a centre half trying to play there. Dunno if he's started his career too late to really improve too much but it'll do him no harm getting plenty games at aberdoom. Hopefully proves us all wrong.

    Even centre half, he is not going to come back and play in front of CCV, Starfelt, The new lad or even Welsh.

    Not saying he is a bad player or anything but I don’t see him making it here.

    He has a good season at the sheep and we can make some money on him.

    Did he play centre back or left back for them? He definitely has potential but needs to perform over the season similar to what Ajer did.

    He's played CB every game so far for them (except the second half of the last game he played LB). Seems to be where both him and Goodwin see his future.

    I think he'd be best playing left of a back 3. Good enough to start for Aberdeen but has a a fair bit of improvement needed to be a cover/ utility man for us.

    As I’ve said before, I think he is a SPFL league player just can’t see him being that player who will be Celtic class in Europe or gives us that extra something.

    At least Welsh is useful, trained at the club so gives us that tick. Which Scales doesn’t.

    Feel like people are writing him off way too quickly tbh.

    I think Aberdeen will be the ideal environment for him to develop. Not saying he will quite cut it with us but I don’t think he’s a million miles off it.

    If Welsh doesn't get out on loan this year and ends up 4th choice think it will be interesting to see how him and scales compare come end of the season if scales gets full year at Aberdeen

    He also played left back rather than left centre back. We have been crying out for a tall left footed centre back who is decent on the ball. So if Scales can go out and do a job at Aberdeen at worst we should be able to sell him for more than we paid to English Championship or at best he becomes a useful player for us.
