    At this point, Maeda.

Abada has a lot to learn but I will caveat that by saying his end product is incredible and he has several levels in him.

All three, constantly changing positions to baffle the opponents.

Maeda's wearing a goalie top to add to the confusion.

As it stands, maeda on the left, jota on the right. With Abada coming on when the other two have worn down the defence. I think we are taking for granted how draining it must be to have maeda running at you non stop.
That said, abada exceeded my expectations last season and if he can add consistency to his game, we are in a great position to rotate with no reduction in quality. Add another winger in there and I think we are * set to do well on all fronts.

oh, and give us a big unit of a defensive mid please. Cheers.

This doesn't help things, but I think Maeda is the one likely to cause turnovers and Abada is the one best suited to taking advantage of those. So I think there is actually some games where Jota will be the one on the sidelines. It really comes down to the opposition being faced.

For most games, breaking down a defence, I think Jota + Abada is the best combination. Once a game opens up then that changes things.

Thought our best 45min in pre season was in Boruc test. Two nil halftime, hit the posts umpteen times and three other clear chances created.
Yet,Abada and Maeda both started with Forrest on the left....no Jota,Kyogo or GG in the starting line up.
Would replace Forrest with Jota on the left.
But then, how do i get Kyogo or GG starting?...
    My brain is hurting now:67:

Love Maedas harrying and buzzing about everywhere but I do prefer Abada on the right and Jota on the left.

Basically comes down to 2 things:
    - Jota is more effective on the left
    - Abada and Jota are still developing and playing them in their natural position will help that

But it's a very close call.

Maeda offers speed and heavy pressing which can be torture to play against. Abada offers finesse and close control which only Jota is better at in our league.

I voted Maeda, but it’s as close call as it gets.

I've picked Abada mainly due to having Maeda playing forces Jota on to the right and while he's capable I think he's far better playing on the left

Difficult choice. As Maeda can run for 90mins it would make sense to start him and then get Abada on for a tired Jota. But having Maeda on the bench with both others starting you can bring him for either, based on who might have a more quiet game. Based on the quick impression from pre-season, Abada looked a bit sharper than last season so I would start with him.

I went with Abada, but in all honesty you could argue a good case for both.

Maeda - and honestly, it's not even close for me. That's not having a dig at Abada (he's easily 3rd choice) but Maeda is a brilliant player. He does have dodgy touches and misses chances but he gets to so many chances I could see him up there with Kyogo as top scorer this season. I'm so excited to see Maeda, Kyogo and Jota as a regular starting forward line this season.

Maeda is more consistent with his impact on games.

He is, but Abada is more consistent at assisting and scoring. Which is the dilemma for me.

Honestly, Jota playing in his best position on the left swings it for me.

    Pretty similar ratio so far.

    54 games - 15 goals 11 assists
    21 games - 7 goals 5 assists

If Maeda could finish consistently he’d be on about 12 goals. Feel like he’s going to hit 15+ easy.

    In the league Maeda had 0.85 G+A P90 and Abada had 0.66 G+A P90.

Well, * me… doesn’t feel like that. Abada’s clinical as * and Maeda misses a fuckload of sitters :56:

    Two completely different players.

I’d be starting with Abada but I’m happy with both.

That's a really difficult question. I love Maeda's energy and shutting down however, playing him means sacrificing Jota to the other wing where I don't think he's as good and Maeda does miss a helluva lot of chances that Abada would probably finish so, don't have a fecking clue and I'll leave it in big Ange's capable hands

Think Maeda will start more games but Abada is effective off the bench anyway.

Maeda for me will create more chances purely through his work rate and speed, whereas Abada has better forward instincts so will get more goals. * this is tricky..

Maybe start them both and play Jota as a 10? :39:
