Not sure how was meaning he deserves a hero welcome :56:

More that, our support are very likely to go along with his appointment. Even those who grumble will end up accepting it.
If anything has been proven the last 3 years, it's that our support, on the whole, will accept almost anything, so long as we look to be better than the rest of scotland, even by a baw hair.

No he was implying the wider support would give him a hero’s welcome, not him obviously. Also Ange will be rat within a year.

    Like I said. Outdone themselves.

Lawwell was at the club for two decades. The notion that the majority of the support was against him throughout that period is laughable. He simply wouldn’t have lasted that amount of time.

Mark my words if lawwell comes back he will start interfering again and Ang will say * this and he will be off just like the rat .
Lawwell has had his time and Celtic and time to move forward as a club .

I reckon he already is back, given how we missed out on Souza.

It has shades of McGinn etc.

Think the support or even the green brigade should be telling the board we don't want lawwell back just like when they tried to appoint that * policeman at Celtic so hopefully a few banners to tell Peter to * off and stay away .

He absolutely loathes the Celtic support.

Would swear he’s on the wrong forum.

Surely share holders have to be questioning this.

A multi million pound company awarding positions of power to their pals.

Standard of candidates interested in ceo, chairman or managers positions at club size of Celtic would be really high but as was previously admitted, we throw applications in a drawer and give it pals or people who know the city

He was in charge for a long time when it was virtually impossible not to be successful domestically, as for a lot of the time we only had to be better than Aberdeen. Took us from European finalists to European cannon fodder, and was a big player in the absolute disaster of a season when going for the 10, which ultimately goes back to appointing Lennon for a second time, and then allowing him to run us into the ground, and can’t stand a lot of the Celtic support. An absolute cretin who we should be doing all we can to stay away from, as a lot of the feel good factor around at the minute would be sucked out if the place if this * comes back. This is the first year in a very long time when we have been ready to go at the start of a season. It’s no coincidence that it took this rat to leave for that to happen.

I remember a few on here constantly beating the “who could we get that is better” drum many a time when it came to him. Well, as things stand, we seem to have better just now.

Constantly told us we couldn’t compete with wages down South for players, all the while picking up a bigger salary than most people in his position down South.

    * off Lawwell.

If anything has been proven I think it’s that the supporters don’t matter a flying * in these sort of decisions. It’s been that for a long time.

Putting aside the Lawwell glorious return. Does the chairman of the board normally come from the existing board or can an outsider be appointed.
Celtic needs to modernise and appoint a young, vibrant, energetic leader who can represent the values of the club. Leave Nicolson to work quietly in the background and have a chairman to do media and club promotion opps with Ange.

Not because McKay was out of his depth?

Yeah, what a woeful transfer window he overseen…

By all accounts, the final straw was him signing Juarnovic without the approval of certain board members. He did the same with Kyogo, apparently.

The proactivity probably terrified the idiots.

That was the chat at the time amongst those who appear to have a line at the club.

I did say apparently, so may not be true. It makes sense, as he certainly didn’t appear out his depth.

Would doubt it. That fat * Lawwell was out of his depth for 17 years and they didn't seem to bother.

I don't know either way but that's what I had heard. Unless McKay ever reveals anything then it's just pure speculation.
