Sightings of these Aesculapian rat snakes are becoming more common in the Hackney marshes near by. Think they can grow up to 2m in length. This one must have been about 1.5m. Good thing my cat spotted it before I walked on it 045899AE-0F6B-44E7-AE2D-06C18D943745.jpeg

My wife, daughter and I went to a cash n carry yesterday. When we were leaving, the Gulls all around us were going crazy. There was a man feeding the Starlings some chips, when a stunning Sparrowhawk flew down and caught one of the Starlings. This all happened directly in front of us as we were heading back to the car. Cruel but superb to see. Caroline managed to grab a photo of the action.

A few from last week, I bought a small lightweight hide to see if i could get a wee bit closer to the wildlife, i used it for these pics of two Egrets having a bit of a domestic, the hide seems to work as i don't think i would get quite so close without it.

The last two for John boy, the parent Gull was catching fish for the young and feeding them on the water, but now and again she would bring the catch onto dry land and the young Gull would take the fish down to the loch and wash it before swallowing it.
