I'd imagine it is done unless a CCV/Jota type signing becomes available at the end of the window.

Add bain, Welsh and Johnston to the attached lineups and that gives us a 25man squad for Europe, which ticks all the boxes for player registrations etc.

I can't imagine we are gonna add anyone else, without seeing someone kicked out this squad list.

For me, it makes guys like ajeti, McCarthy, surplus to requirements at this stage.

Beef up that 25 man squad with guys like vata, Kenny ect.

Obviously should someone leave from this list, then we need to replace. Like for like preferably.

I know a lot of us want to see the dominating CDM, but if we all take a moment to trust Ange, think we can all accept that the manager likely isn't wanting that type of player.

What we need is for guys like Hatate and Ideguchi to come in with that sort of steel and combat.

But for now, as we stand, brilliant window.

Seigrist, CCV, jenz, Bernabéi, mooy, Jota, maeda.
    Banging.

Hopefully we can punt Jullien, McCarthy and Ajeti. Would imagine they’ll be on at least 60k combined and won’t kick a ball this season.

I think we would all still like a proper DM, left footed RW that can play ST if needed and another CB to replace Welsh.

At worst I’d expect 1 of those 3 to happen before the window closes.

I still expect Jullien and Ajeti to leave before the end of the window, and expect we'll bring in a RW/3rd choice striker. That'll be our lot. I could see a promising young loan near the end of the window for that RW/3rd choice striker role.

Until we shift Ajeti, I don't see us bringing in another attacker, might need to shift Johnstone too.

Think, sadly, we're probably done in midfield too, unless we somehow shift McCarthy on. Even then I suspect Ange is happy with what he has.

    Here is what you said,

“I'd rather watch better style of football and accept that we will get pumped in a competition that I couldn't give 2 * about.”

That suggests you don’t want us to change does it not?

I fail to see how changing the setup and bringing in a holding midfielder will make “* all difference”

It will make us far more difficult to break down. You want a run in the Europa League? Well we need to finish 3rd in our group to try and achieve that. We will need to be far more organised defensively than we were last season to get 3rd. See for that good run in the Europa you want as well, we will need to be a lot harder to score against too. We got ripped apart in the Conference, never mind the Europa by being too open.

As I’ve already said, bringing in a holding midfielder doesn’t just need to be for the games in Europe. You could play with one week in week out, and still be just as much of an attacking threat as well currently are, but also have a bit of protection for the defence. It would also get more out of McGregor by getting him higher up the park, because he can offer much more by being played in as advanced role compared to where he plays just now.

If you take the squad @Keano88 has that would allow for 3 more players in Europe but 2 would need to be locally trained. That 22 has club trained: Welsh, Forrest, McGregor and Ralston association : Turnbull and Taylor.
Right now any 2 of Bain, McCarthy and Johnstone fill that. At the moment I don't think we will bring players in that can't be uses in Europe, so one more tops.

Will be frustrated if that's the last business we do. Can't see that being the case though.

Are there any front third players from the Bs worthy of stepping up?

Vata looks a player. What's happened to Brooks and Moffat?

Massively disappointing if that’s us finished for the summer, albeit I reckon we’ll still get one or two more if we can shift Jullien and Ajeti.

We really could be doing with another attacker, preferably a RW who can also play up top. Maeda is good cover for Jota on the left. Forrest not so much for Abada.

Andy Brassell said on the ‘On the continent’ podcast that Michut is keen on Celtic

I think Michut is definitely a chance of a loan to buy late in the window, much like CCV and Jota were. We’ve enquired about the price like we did for CCV, then we’ll come in late with a knock down price like the CCV deal.
