You’re still a physical DM short there, which is what everyone agrees we severely lack.

It baffles me in the extreme how anyone can doubt the managers judgement here. Crazy.

The guys a free agent. Talk of him demanding a big wage. What would that be?

    I'd give him at a maximum, 6K a week 1 year contract. He'll leave Glasgow with £312,000.

Enough to buy a west end flat outright and an improved second year contract. In one years time you can assess if he was value for money.

The four year deal for McCarthy on the other hand was idiotic.

I suspect Mccarthy is on a wage in the region of £14,000 a week. A quick calculation estimate means he will leave celtic with £2,184,000 in 3 years time... Mccarthy's now able to earn a wage for the rest of his footballing career despite the chance of him not playing any games most seasons. I don't think that's right at all!

It's the same with James Forrest who also seemed to write the terms and conditions of his new deal himself. He must be on 25K a week. For 3 more years. That would work out at around £3.9 million.

    They are here to stay...

We all do but I’m not sure Ange is thinking the same the now based on his comments the other day.

If Vera comes in he’ll be the 6 surely.

Mixed feeling on this one. Not overly excited by the signing but on the other had, if he is an addition to the two signings Ange previously mentioned then it's welcomed. From what I gather he can cover a number of positions across the midfield. If he is better than McCarthy and idegeuci then it's add to our depth and hopefully quality.

Yeah a mixed feeling on this one

Whatever happened in China with covid and effecting football is one thing that would help explain his lack of game time but he'd have been likely on 5x times 6k as a weekly wage.

I don't think he's a signing we need to make personally but suggest he'd be happily take such a cut in wage is just insulting and if we offered him that I'd fully expect him to tell us to do one and expect to see him turn out for a club in championship.

Thought I saw someone mention he was 32 so just went with it. Don't know enough about Mooy to get upset about the signing. Yeah it's a wee bit uninspiring but doesn't mean he won't be a good addition and as you say Ange has earned the right to add who he wishes and thats a crucial point...IF this was actually his first choice and not him being told to run his finger a bit further to the bottom of the list and pick a cheaper option.

    10K a week

Maybe we can double it for Mooy. I would like to see him in the green and white hoops.

15k max I would pay a week for him.

£780,000 in wages. Halved if he gets taxed £400,000. The life. The Celtic dream!

He can buy a nice home with his Chinese money in the west end of Glasgow with his Scottish wife.

And if it works out for him then he'll get an improved deal before the end of the season.

His comments and going from a £7m CDM to Mooy on a freebie suggests we were never in for the Brazilian. But then again as someone said Mooy still ain't signed.

Mate come on, you’ve no way of judging that. When he popped up for Huddersfield at first, I recalled him instantly. I can’t speak for others, but nor can you, and I’m likely not alone in recalling his time there. First of all, you don’t forget a name like that, and more to the point, he scored what was at the time a fairly prominent and decisive goal vs the Huns. It was in the first half of the season they went bust, and we were behind in the league at that point and needing them to drop points, which they duly did several times around then. That St Mirren game was one of them.
