3 decent goals taken but lots to work on

 

Thankfully we don't have to read too much into that as it's still pretty early in our pre season, it's mixed line ups and it's more about fitness than anything just now as we looked rusty. I only saw the second half but our play at the back was really sloppy from what I did see. I actually felt sorry for Osaze as he looked so far out of his depth it was frightening. Kyogo and Turnbull looked decent, no one else really caught the eye in a positive way that I can recall.

Still it's another step towards fitness and so we should be sharper next game.

 

Welsh had a good half, our best defensive player of the game. Thought he did well.

 

Julien not good enough , that last goal poor defending from him just came in an seen the last 10 minutes he thinks he is better than he is pish poor . I know its a friendly and maybe good to get the dross away from Parkhead

 

Good thing about preseason games like this shows the ones that need to be moved on, Bain, Jullien, McCarthy have to go, can't rely on them in a pre season friendly never mind chasing a game in the league. Urogede * knows how it's spelt, will never make it as a RWB no got the skill nor ability.

Some good performances as well, especially for the 2nd game of the preseason.

 

I hope we’ve had some hard sessions of late, we were way off it.

Uroghide, punt to that Belgian side asap. Julien was gash. Lawal gave everything away. Midfield didn’t link up with our forwards and never held onto the ball, Abada and Forrest anonymous.

 

Defending was * second half but no bernabi, CCV, starfelt, juranovic or even ralston , who will all be the starter’s this season, boy lawal actually made some impressive tackles just needs to work on his distribution

 

There can’t be a team in Europe that gifts away as many soft goals as we do.

 

Last ball into the box and it ends up in the net highlights the work needing done also at times out midfield was just unable to get any control of the game

 

To be fair to the second half crew, early last season we saw similarly calamitous defending by the backline who ended the season with the best defence in the league. Remember when a simple ball over the top would undo them? After getting to know the system and their roles in it, that mostly all changed for the better.

 

How did the Guchi play??

 

Reasonable point, but last year it was a completely new system. This year it's the clubs system. Although to be honest we didn't appear to be playing inverted FBs on either side of either half, or pressing in the way I'd expect. Possibly down to it only being the first real game.

Wouldn't read too much into the games yet but definitely hoping for more.

 

Need a strong CDM, need to stop fannying about at the back, need to get rid of some players as they bring nothing to the team and need to remember that's it's only the 2nd game of the season but we do need improvement in one or two key areas. -

 

Read nothing into pre-season, to infinity.

Jullien was absolutely terrible, Lawal needs a loan and Urhoghide is never an Ange player. Still need a CB, DM and as much as I'd love Larsson to sign I still think a proper RW that is closer to an AM than a ST is more important.

Not enough defensive cover from the midfield 3.
