Can remember a few YouTube clips convinced me Donati was a taller, harder Pirlo. Still love the mad * though

With the amount they talk about immigration you’d think they’d be experts.

I think Bernabei and Maeda could form a good partnership on the left. From the limited footage it looks like a Bernabei likes to get on the ball and get forward, where as Maeda likes to press out of possession and lay the ball of easily which should hopefully mean they complement one another.

Also Maeda has the work rate to help cover any defensive deficiencies.

Seen him out with Jota, O'Riley & Jura tonight. Nice to see that he's being looked after.

It really seems like our team is full of great people right now. Love it.

I reckon it's difficult to judge a left back based on highlight clips, especially from a league most of us probably aren't familiar with. But we've spent a few mil on a player at LB just a few days into the window and that's the main thing. Any business from here on out is basically a bonus, CCV, Jota and a LB ticks the major signing boxes most of us would have had at the end of the season.

Have a feeling he'll be the top assister in the league this season.

Celtic should find out in the next 24 hours if they are unable to use new signing Alexandro Bernabei in the first two matches of the new SPFL Premiership season.

The Argentinian full back is he subject of a two-match ban after being sent off for headbutting Colon star Augusto Schott in an Argentinian Premier League match while making his final appearance for Lanus ahead of his £3.75million move to Parkhead.

However, the question is whether the ban will be applicable in Scotland. In normal circumstances suspensions are transferred when a player moves to another association - especially when it involves European bodies - but it is not always the case when a South American authority is involved. So Celtic face an anxious wait.

The Scottish FA have received the registration documentation and all is in order. They are now waiting international clearance from the AFA which will include the potential suspension information.

If the ban is confirmed then Bernabei would miss the Premiership flag-unfurling season-opener against Aberdeen on July 31 and then the trip to Dingwall the following Saturday to face Ross County and that wouldn't be ideal as the Argentinian tries to settle into his new environment.

It would mean his first taste of Scottish football would on the plastic at Kilmarnock on Sunday, August 13 which is not the ideal scenario for the 23-year-old

Bernabei, however, is free to play in all of Celtic's warm-up games - the first of which is tomorrow in Austria when they play lower league side Wiener Viktoria.
