Expectations for coming season...

Regardless of signings we simply have to show something in Europe. Our record recently is embarrassing.

It’s as much about better tactics and a better mentality than it is about better players.



Really hope I’m wrong and we step it up but I just see us being exposed even more.

 

In the CL it's what I full expect to happen...mainly because, never do we get groups that could be something we can work with.

This season especially seems like we could get one of the toughest groups imaginable as I believe teams like Real Madrid and Liverpool are in separate groups which just highlights the madness we could be drawn up against.

Because of our luck as well I fully expect us to rope in those types of clubs and end up with such a group and then well....we are done in Europe completely.

 

Back to five with max three stoppages.

 

Honest opinion.....I actually really like having 5 subs.

Not that Ange I don't think always utilises it of course but I think it's great having the option.

 

Honestly this is just excuses for our utter embarrassments over the years. When it’s consistently the case it’s not luck. When we’re getting pumped off minnows with a fraction of our budget it’s not luck.

Time people started actually asking questions and demanded improvement instead of making excuses.

As daft as it sounds, am actually half expecting us to progress in the CL, maybe even get to a quarter/semi final. I know I know, head in the clouds etc. It's just a feeling I get when thinking about how good a manager Ange is.

It does happen. Sometimes a club or a nation at international level, can come out of nowhere and surprise the entire footballing world. Call it a hunch but I think we will outdo ourselves big time next season.

All very sensible points mate. But IF we managed to get through the CL group, and IF we got a decent draw in the last 16, would you start believing then?

We're that used to getting skelped about in Europe that it's totally understandable to have little hope. But there's something special about our manager, and there's something special happening at our club. I can't shake the feeling that we're gonna make massive strides.

 

100% the league.
Perform better in Europe but a 3rd place finish in the CL and an extended run in the Europa would be good.

I like it too. Not only because it gives more players game time but can be used to make significant tactical changes. It also makes sense given how many games are in a season.

 

It’s weird how easy some people seem to just write the Bodo games off.

They were massively concerning for me. It wasn’t even close. We were completely out of our depth against them.

There's definitely a long way to go. It's great to be positive but people are setting expectations so high that even a small disappointment like a dodgy start could cascade into severe negativity.

It's going to be a process. The group and the manager need time to develop.

Mate we even make the quarter finals of the Champions League I probably won’t be fit enough to post on here for the semis

It’ll be the same who said similar under Rodgers but when he was accepting us getting pumped in Europe then started saying it was because he wasn’t getting money to spend.

The most likely outcome is it’ll happen again and people will talk about budgets and backing instead of tactics and mentality throughout the club.
