My concern about this link is I think we need a left sided CB more than another right sided one. Yes we need cover there, but I really can't see us putting down the kind of money I think this would take on a back up to CCV.

If we are thinking of making him a left sided CB I'd rather we went for someone who is left footed or has at least played there regularly rather than taking a punt and hoping it works out.

In summary I would like him, but I can't see it happening due to the number of players we need and how much he'd cost. However if we can get him on top of all the other signings we NEED, I'd be delighted. A loan with an option would be ideal, but I can't see Schalke going for that as by all accounts they need the money.

Any credible source on this or is it all coming from one random Italian?

Watched highlights and he looks relatively two footed to me.

I thought he looked uncomfortable on his left in the one I saw. Regardless he only seemed to play as a right sided CB in that clip, and it's not always a straightforward switch to playing on the left.

If we can afford to bring him in as back up to CCV and also a left sided CB by all means we could also try him there. My worry is if he was the only left sided CB option we had while Starfelt is out, who isn't natural on that side either, rather than bringing in someone that's already suited to that position.

Unless we are, for a change, looking ahead and anticipating losing CCV next year and we are bringing in his replacement now to learn the system. If that was the thinking behind our approach (if there has been one) then I'm all for it.

They say on his stats he is also a defensive midfielder and a right back as well, he seems to cover the ground pretty quick as well could be another top player for the future, could be a good bit of business from us looks like a younger version of Julien but not scared of a tackle hope we sign him

How tall is he? He’ll need to be massive to offset Bernabei, otherwise we might not win the champions league this year.

Seriously.... give them Jullien, Barkas, Boli, Soro, McCarthy and Ajeti + £6Million and we will probably save money still and not lose anything as those names would barely offer 5 90 minute worth of appearances over a season.

    Bargin for us.

    Genuinely not surprised.

Quite evident from his highlight reels.

Jonjoe Kenny played for Schalke, so Schalke are pish, so he’s pish.

Logic of the “I’m worried” merchants in here.

Seem as this could be a good deal for us. My worry is though, that he wouldn't get enough game time. At his age that's very important and something a lot of people say abouth Welsh.

If you're interested, in one of the Schalke videos on Youtube he says his favourit position as a kid was midfield and that he thinks van Dijk is the best defender atm. So just work with that Celtic! :D
And if you want to know how to pronounce his name, look at this video. It's a lot different to what most people think :giggle1: It sounds something like the Italian Ciao.

The one thing I don’t get is why would Schalke loan him to us as I can’t see us buying him outright the now?

If he is attracting serious interest from Milan and the likes why would they loan him here rather than just sell him there?

I hope it’s true as he looks a good young defender with the attributes to complement what we have.

There's no mention of how serious the interest is.

These clubs get linked with every talented young player in the world. He's also been linked with Liverpool in the past.

Reports in Germany have linked Celts with Schalke defender Malick Thiaw but SunSport understands the 20-year-old is NOT on the Hoops’ radar.

    It's actually reports in Italy.

So that kind of makes me immediately doubt what they know.

But I do think this one is unlikely.
