I always forget he played for us in two different spells. Quite bizarre that for a foreign player.

Best lb for me I've saw at Parkhead, got to a level that I've not personally saw matched. Injuries gubbed him in the end.

    Good luck wee man.

    Really?

He was a good player for most of the first spell, but Tierney was levels above.

KT was amazing for us...but there was a way Izzy could skin * in his first season, that I don't think I've seen anyone really come close to.

Literally anyone in the squad...at their peaks I don't think even wingers like Sinclair could do it or arguably even Jota has done so far.

Izzy could just nutmeg * for fun and leave them dizzy.

Yeah, he is the best player I can recall being at the goaline out wide and somehow kept coming out time and time again.

KT was brilliant, but personally I rate Emilio and also Jackie Mc ahead of him in a Celtic shirt, for me KT has got better since he left but do still think he could've progressed for us a little longer. Into the bargain these guys played way more times than KT too .

I struggle with this one. KT overall was better but Izzys first season was as good as (if not better) than any LB I've seen at Celtic

Nostalgia does funny things to people.

I liked Izaguirre a lot but his defensive deficiencies would have been highlighted more significantly had it not been for Joe Ledley.

His first season was exceptional, aye. But even then I feel like it seemed even better than it really was because we'd went years without a good left back.:giggle1:

Over the piece, Tierney was a much better player. Fantastic defensively and in attack.

Tierney is arguably the best left back in world football right now in my opinion.

He was excellent in his first season and then pretty consistent after the ankle break. Could see he lost pace after that injury and then confidence. Overall he was pretty good for us I thought

Not a bit, yeah I'm annoyed with how its panned out with him, but just type both players names and my username and then say again if its bitterness.

Do I have much time for him, no, but I'm not using that in regards to this.

I’ve had 5 pints and that’s fried my brain.

It’s a new thing for people to defend talking * with the “my opinion” shout. Opinion can be dogshit you do know that? Like me telling you in my opinion the world is flat and crop circles are made by aliens… it would be an opinion, but it’s bullshit.

Well as I said it's my opinion, both guys I mentioned played double/treble games that KT mustered.

Just my opinion, like saying Cadete was better than Larsson because of his strike rate is better.

As I said it's my opinion that he was better, and as for the bitter part, 5 pints or not, I'd lay off it if you can't understand about a simple search facility on the site.

This sums it up for me. Ledley was forever having to drop into left back to cover for him, Izzy was a good player but nowhere near the level some seem to think he was at.

Couldn’t it be his opinion that you’re bitter?

    Just his opinion?

    Yeah it would be.

Thing is he doesnt have anything factually to back it up from previous, whilst I do from this very site.
