Is he technically our player right at this very moment though to be calling back for today?

I clutching obviously but still confident this deal gets over the line...I can't imagine Ange will have wanted the club to spend this long getting contracts and deals done if he weren't coming...if he weren't, I'd have expected to see an alternative through the door already.

 

He's signed, think we would have heard something by now if there was a major hitch in the deal.

Why we're dragging it out? No idea, I think the time to panic is if he's not signed by this time next week.

 

I would guess that they want him to be back here for media duty but he's still on holiday so we're waiting.

It is as little concerning that no announcement of Jota signing. It could be for contractual reasons he is a Benfica player until 30th June, most players contracts finish on that date. He maybe hasn't turned up for Benfica training today because he has been given the time off as he becomes our player on the first July, that is Friday, a announcememt day.

 

Wrang Friday.

 

The fact we've arguably been signing players in positions that need attention i.e CB, GK and LB as I assume the Argentine lad is actually due to be announced any day...probably just fussing about making sure work permits and the likes are completed.

The fact we've done nothing else to fill the gap should Jota not be coming here would be clutching at straws but also gives me confidence that he's still coming back.

It seems like this new era and direction under Ange is not to waste time and get * done, to a degree, the moment Ange sees it needs addressing...so to have been waiting this long and not even heard additional rumours of players in Jota's position be linked is promising.

 

Poor McGregor. Has had about 4 days off in 9 years, while this guy has been on a 3-month whistle stop tour covering the length and breadth of Europe.

 

Ha! Mcgregor had a day out at the Nile factory at Cumbernauld and had to return straight back to Lennoxtown
