Love him and it would hurt to lose him, but it's very hard to see him staying if Atletico make a bid.

 

That would be a * of a move for him, if it's true, would rather not lose him obviously but he's at an age where his next contract will probably be the biggest of his career, so you wouldn't grudge him leaving even after just one year with us, especially for that calibre of team.

At least we're in a strong position, 4 years left on his contract, CL qualifying money coming in so we don't really need to sell anyone this season if we don't want to, it would have to be a pretty high bid for us to accept you'd think.

 

Are Athletico able to make big signings? Absolutely shrouded in debt are they not? Obviously could still pay more than us but could the afford £20m for a 27 year old right back?

 

If he goes, he needs a sell-on clause thrown in as well.

Be a strange move if he was to go. CL football here, nailed on first choice RB and the World Cup around the corner. Risking a lot by moving and possibly not getting in the team and losing his WC place.

Couldn't blame him for leaving if the interest is real. £25mil or more and we get in three quality players with the profit.

 

They are a club that can go big. They’ve been trying for Emerson the Brazilian RB for years, but he went to Tottenham for £25m or something like that, they are still trying to get him too. Atletico sold Trippier for £15m to Newcastle last January, so they need a RB. I have no doubt they’ve been alerted to Juranovic because of the recent tweet and a report saying £15m is the price the club puts on him.

We need to stop these rumours and stick a £30m price tag on him. If they want him that bad they’ll pay. Otherwise it stops the rumours for the rest of the season.

Edit: Atletico paid €22m for Trippier when he was 28.

 

At 27 a sell on clause isn’t really in our best interest. Obviously best case scenario is he stays but if he were to go then a huge up front fee would be better.

 

If there is genuine interest from a top 4 team in one of the big leagues, who are willing to multiply his wages his head will be turned.

Juranovic is a bit of an anomaly in that he was relatively unknown prior to the Euros last year and then became Croatia’s first choice right back at 25 years old. We got him for a snip at £2.5m, one of those deals that don’t often exist anymore in the market.

I think he is actually one of the few players right now in our squad that could go to a team of that calibre and hold their own.

For us it would then be about getting a fair price and bringing in a suitable replacement as well as using the rest of the funds to strengthen other areas of the side.

I love the guy so would hate to see him go but it’s the world we live in now and our football operation including scouting needs to be alive to that so we have players in mind for all positions at all times.

 

12 mill would be an insult, we have all the power here no need to sell for a * fee

 

IF it's true, then it would definitely be a great club and league for him with the added bonus of a massive wage increase. Would be difficult to hold on to him of they do come in for him. But with the 4 years left on his contract and little chance of a huge sell on profit I think £20m for Croatia no 1 RB who can also play lb just as well isn't to much to ask for. Just * we always seem to be needing a new RB

 

The only way I see him moving for less than £20m is if he has a release clause in his contract.

I hope there isn't one and I doubt there is. However, it could've been a deal clincher for him coming here to have a release clause in his contract.

I can't begrudge him of a move there though, if it's true.

 

I’d much rather he goes there than some * English outfit.

£20million+ is what we will demand but I’d imagine we would settle for £17million due to his age.

 

If Atletico are in the dumps financially & Josip does a job there, it's usually the wing-backs that go first regardless of how well he does.

 

£25m and then try again for Couto, tell him we’ll get him a pal from Brazil, Jota can teach him English
