I like Bain. Happy to have him as 3rd choice. Seems to be a really decent lad.

Sorry Scott I didn't realise you followed the forum.
(Thdn again , I'm not that surprised)
I'm not just talking about his looks . Certainly fiesta look like an athrlete and definitely an imposter of a goalkeeper. Get yourself back to bricklaying

I would genuinely be * myself if we were to go into a CL group stage game with Bain in goals; Seigrist was an essential signing

PSG pumped us 7-1; if Bain had been in goals it could have been double figures which would have been truly humiliating - Although admittedly Craig Gordon who was in goals was a liability in European games too - There has been a desperation to blow smoke up Gordons * this season now that he plays for the mini-huns; not buying it for a second there was always a costly mistake in him

Calling anyone an imposter when you’ve hit the drum about Barkas.

The lad is squad player, that is hopefully helping push his fellow goalies in each training session.

Think Bain is okay for a backup. We have had a lot worse. I still have nightmares of Dorus De Vries starting in the champions league for us. Probably the worst keeper I’ve seen…even worse than Barkas.

Heard recently that Alloa fans used to sing the lyrics 'You're Scott Bain' to the tune of You're so Vain by Carly Simon when he played for them.

Quite content to have him around.

He seems popular in the squad. He's also not gonna push for a move as he's earning great money to be a 3rd choice keeper.

This is as good as it gets for him. I'd be doing the exact same.

Reckon we should be looking to punt, never rated him and was brickin it last season thinking about him coming if anything were to happen to big Joe.
We have now got a really good back up keeper in Seigrist, so just cannot see the point in keeping Bain, along with Hazard and Doohan.

Scott Bain is set to leave Celtic this summer after more than five years at the club, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed that Scottish sides are showing interest in the 31-year-old goalkeeper – as well as clubs from England’s second and third tier

Celtic are laying the groundwork for a new shot-stopper signing this summer by scouting a number of potential targets.

Bain is the existing Hoops goalkeeper set to be sacrificed in order to free up space for a new arrival.

He has failed to play a single senior minute this season but has been a regular feature on the Celtic bench.

The three-time Scotland international is under contract at Parkhead until May 2024 after signing an extension last summer (2022).

Celtic’s squad currently boasts four senior goalkeepers, with first-choice star Joe Hart flanked by Bain, Benjamin Siegrist and Conor Hazard

Hart has been in formidable form this season despite his advancing years, playing 41 of the Hoops’ 43 games and keeping 17 clean sheets in the process.

Ange Postecoglou’s side have leaked only 14 goals in 30 Scottish Premiership matches in the 2022-23 campaign.

Bain was a regular in the Celtic team prior to the arrivals of Hart and Postecgolou and tussled with Vasilis Barkas and Craig Gordon for a place in the side.

He has racked up 74 appearances for the club in total since joining from Dundee in 2018, keeping 38 clean sheets.

The shot-stopper’s last season at Celtic is likely to prove another successful one, with Postecoglou’s side in pole position to seal back-to-back league titles.

The Hoops have also tied up the Scottish League Cup and could complete the treble with the Scottish Cup in the latter stages of the season.
