I don't think he's a terrible player, be interesting to see how he gets on at Aberdeen.

If that cb role at Aberdeen really works for him.

Could he be someone that would overtake Welsh in the pecking order as back up CBs.

Be interesting to see how it goes given how poor Aberdeen were last season.

A similar moved worked at treat for Ajer going to Killie as a CB. Hoping for the same outcome here. Hope it works out for him.

Good player, from what I've seen of him with us. Obviously Ange doesn't fancy him, even though his presence would raise our backline height.

Don't think hes ever going to be good enough.

if he was one of the best the LOI had to offer I'd not be rushing back. Decent left foot and reasonably calm on the ball, but nothing screams to me that he's a nailed on Celtic 1st team player.

I think he'll do really well at Aberdeen. Never a Celtic player, mind you.

One of the biggest problems with singings from the LOI is that the ones that are left are usually the ones who were passed up by the academies of English clubs at a young age, most of the best prospects find themselves in academies before they even play a minute of senior football in the LOI. You're basically left with late bloomers and the unwanted.

Who was the Irish guy that signed for AC Milan from Cork City on that note?

Good luck to the Bhoyo and hope he comes back better. Not a bad player going forward but needs polished up.

Cathal Heffernan, centre back, think he just turned 17. Had a trial where he started with the u17s or u18s but was in the squad and training for the u19s (highest age group) by the end and they've signed him permanently. Very promising player.

Good move this... For all parties! Mostly us though... Unload a slot, some wages, get to remove the sheep CB in those games, watch him every week (hopefully!) as he develops... All in favour of this, and hope he grows/shines

How did Montgomery get on at Aberdeen? Assume if he did OK he might go back again and be part of the same team might as Scales.

It worked for Christie - think there's an ok player there. Coming from the backwaters of the LOI into Celtic is a massive leap. Good luck to the lad.

Thought he did OK for us when called upon under difficult circumstances. I know others disagree but it was good to see some of our youth get a run out early doors last season. Certainly helped Ange out in the early days when called upon.

Ah well, disappointing he didn't do better but still young.

Any time I saw Aberdeen fans talking about him, they were slating him. Should be loaned out again or sold.

Decent move for Scales. Interesting to see Goodwin talking about using him as a LCB. His physical profile looks more suited to that than full back.

Like a poor man's Charlie Mulgrew.
