Not that excited about this guy. He's 5ft 6 and built like the side of a fiver. Our main left back, Greg Taylor is a physical liability as well and he's three inches taller than this guy! In Europe and against the zombies he'll lose most 50/50s and a big athletic right winger will just push past him. I think most Celtic fans recognise our lack of physicality is a major problem for us in Europe, this guy may look good going forward but I think he'll be a major liability defensively. Not what we need at all.

Very narrow way of thinking mate. As reported were in for a CDM brute. Then you can easily play him no qualms. You will mostly find the CDM will drop between the two defenders giving us a back 3 and a overload in midfield when attacking . Having this guy 100% makes us more dynamic and harder to play against. The physical argument is irrelevant if we set up tactically right.

Tbh I have my concerns too but I trust ange and the team.

Everything I'm reading suggests he's a great prospect but will need work. Just hope he can hit the ground running.

What we need is someone that offers what juranovic offers on the other wing, tenacity, pace, ability to beat a man, mobility. Comfortable with ball at feet when in midfield. All those things this guy appears to tick. Not only are the club backing Ange but they are actually backing him with players that he seems to have identified and suit his system. Really good signs

Hope that's the case. It would be great if this guy is a player in the mould of an Alba or Lahm but if that was the case then there's a high likelihood he would be on the radar of clubs in Spain and Portugal who are extremely familiar with the South American market. I really hope I'm wrong but I have serious reservations.

Simply not true. If you look at the highlights you can see he has a low base and centre of gravity and makes a lot of good challenges and recovery runs where he wins the ball back without needing to go to ground. Dani Alves is like the side of a fiver and its never held him back.

Some of Taylors best games have come vs rangers. Points are just not valid at all.

His pace more than makes up for so called other weaknesses.

he is extremely athletic and gets up and down the pitch with ease, who is to say he will get pushed off the ball all the time?

How do you know he is going to be a liability defending? Have you seen him play in depth?

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, and don't mean to sound like a broken record, but again, I think Ange has shown he has an eye for what kind of players we've needed, so I'm certainly not in agreement that he's not what we need at all. As long as it's him that's making the decisions or at least has a large part in it, I'm fine with that. As others have mentioned, in that area if quality is there then height isn't a problem.

Sorry but this is football dinosaur thinking and pretty typical in Scotland.

I agree Taylor lacks physicality but if this guy is dynamic and aggressive his height won’t be an issue look at Juranovic. Would much rather have a dynamic and technical full back than someone who is just physical

Also over the years in Europe it’s our technical ability that held Celtic back not our physicality

I agree with most of that but I would say we need to add physicality to this side. I feel the way this side is going, it isn't going to be our technical ability that holds us back but in fact our physicality.

We do have a small side as it stands. In Europe a lot of the time we won't technically out play sides so we need to have 2 or 3 players who can mix it up a bit more.

However, in saying that, finding a technically adept, fast, tall, physically imposing LB is pretty much impossible not just at our budget but any one:giggle1:. So LB isn't really a position we can hope to find a player like that in.

Sign a tall, imposing left sided CB and someone like Souza for the midfield and we are looking better.
