When evaluating players there’s two separate standards: What would we accept, and what would a club likely be willing to pay?

Joe Hart is probably worth £7m to us. If someone offered us 6, I’d imagine we would turn it down. What would we expect to get for him if we wanted to cash in? £2m max probably.

 

I feel CCV, Kyogo, and Jota could easily be £20m+ and in fact Kyogo may already be

Too many undervaluing our assets.

If someone offered £8m for Jota or £10m for Kyogo tomorrow we’d laugh down the phone, then hang up, then phone back and laugh again, then hang up again.

Kyogo just entering his prime years. Hopefully he sees them out here and we don’t have to reject any bids. Bidding needs to start at £20m though - especially when Brentford are signing wee guys from Hull for £16m.

 

I’m going with what we would get for the player if we tried to sell right now, not what they’re worth to us.

I don’t think there was any other offers for Bernabei when we signed him, at least not for the price we paid. Who would give us £4m for him right now? For the record, I think he’s going to be quality.

Juranovic - I feel like Atletico Madrid have a genuine interest and people have got carried away with the valuation.

We can’t say he’s worth £18m until we have an offer for £18m. Maybe it will come in but right now I think we could sell him for around £7m.

It just depends how you choose to value. No one is going to pay us £20m for Kyogo right now (or anywhere near it) so a £20m value is ridiculous.

Sure, he’s worth that to us and if people want to value like that then that’s fine, but it’s a different type of valuation (and probably less useful).
