I think a fair question would be: Why should we have a royal family? I'd welcome the People's Republic of Britain. It's about time we dropped the great part from our nation's name. It's so pretentious.

What about Undoubtedly Awesome America or Amazing Austrailia? When you name countries like that it sounds really silly.

There's a Hun on Rangers' Media who has a William and Kate avatar and when I seen it I thought "what a pathetic * of a man" I mean what has those two wastes of space ever really done for him other than cost him some of his tax money for their big fancy wedding. I mean, why would we want to get rid of a few fairytale Germans who sit all cosey in a palace living a most luxurious lifestyle, all at the expenses of our dough. I hear it cost Prince Charles a mere £13,000 of taxpayers money to fly on a return flight to Scotland to plant a tree... Good on the ol' chap I say!

We need to get rid of this outdated, outmoded and dysfunctional spoilt family. It's similar to the orange order - an institution that clings on to a bygone age for it's own self interests. Hopefully the younger English people (and the silly royalists here in Scotland and Wales as well as the even sillier royalists in NI) eventually come to their senses and do away with the parasites.

on the plus side, you could sell the "Buckingham Palace is haunted by the headless ghosts of prince Charlie and his auld wizzen maw". that would bring in the tourist dollars.

Would love to see a breakdown of how they bring in millions in tourism. Do you get caught walking about London and go through your finances to prove how much you've spent in relation to the royal family ?

No! Monarchies are a symbol of oppression built upon slavery and give you an insight into how terrible life was hundreds of years ago. The fact that they still exist is a testament to how idiotic most people can be still thinking they serve a purpose. But tourism they say…. If your country is best known for kings and queens then it’s a pretty shallow way to represent your history.
