I am 35 so the best for me is Barcelona 2009-2011. It was a privilege to watch them. Going on highlights and what I have seen of others Ajax stand out for their total football- probably on a par with the Barca team according to my Grandad. And my dad said the Milan team of the late 80's and early 90's was incredible. But no one can ever match the Real Madrid 5 European cups in a row team. Puskas and Di Stefano. It must have been amazing. I think the Lions deserve their place on the list- what an unbelievable team. The Champions of 67!!!

Barcelona 2010-11 is the single greatest team ever.

I doubt football will ever be played to that level again in my lifetime even with the constant and rapid evolution of the game.

Obviously voted Lions though. Greatest achievement in the history of the game.

The 2008 Spain team that won, pretty sure it was 7 players that came through Barca’s system. Was Senna, Ramos, Capdevila, Torres that didn’t.

I think, not double checked and a memory from years ago that. Out of the main starters. Obviously Villa and stuff came into it, and some striker from Malaga or something who was actually quite * anytime I seen him but was topgoalscorer in La Liga at one point. Might have been the 2010 team that one though, it aw mixes in together at this stage.

The 08-09 team under him is far better than any I’ve seen, think that team had zero weaknesses. It was the same talent, technique and ability but far more pace and power.

But the 10-11 team was Messi at his very best so might even it out.

Genuinely think you’re the only person I’ve heard say they think that team was better :giggle1:

Pedro and Villa suited the style far more than Henry and Eto’o and Busquets could be argued as one of if not the greatest CDM in history and was a far greater player than Toure in that role.

I don’t think a single team from any era even comes close to them from that season at their best.

I kinda agree when it was all going well, but defensively that team was a lot better due to the height and physical aspects they had which the later teams didn’t have. That team had everything, won everything and were untouchable in every aspect for me.

It’s like when Alba replaced Abidal, Alba’s a better player I reckon but they missed Abidal like * for his physical attributes. That team for me had no weaknesses.

The 2010-11 team had a far better defensive record and were far better at pressing and stopping attacks. Teams could barely get out because of how relentless they were.

That team out of possession changed football almost as much as it did in possession.

Honestly mate, don’t think I could make an argument between them because I don’t think there was much between them. That team you’re pointing out might be the best at winning the ball back high up the pitch I’ve ever witnessed.

I just think the team in his first season didn’t have anything you could outplay them on, they were more technical, better passers, fitter, stronger, faster and had everything possible. It’s the most complete team I’ve ever seen.

That team you’re pointing out with them, was the greatest possession team that you’ll ever witness. Can’t score against them when you don’t have the * ball. I can remember watching that team against Sevilla, Xavi was on the bench. They went in at half time drawing, had 55% possession. He came on and by 90 minutes they had 75% odds.

That cemented it for me that Xavi’s probably the most exceptional midfielder I’ve ever seen, nobody could control a game like he could. Mental to think he was on the verge of being sold before Pep took over.

The only team in my lifetime that i could see challenging 2011 Barca would be Bayern under Flick.

    Hypothetical of course

Amd rightly so. The Lisbon Lions have been and always will be the greatest club side EVER.
