    With our relationship to City, I could see this happening, I think he has a year left at City, so either a 6 month deal with a LTB option of £3 million, or they extend his contract like spurs did with CCV and we agree a LTB of £4 million.

    He doesnt look very physically imposing but he seems to put himself about and cover the ground well quite going by his youtube videos (i know, i know). Seems quite decent with the ball at his feet as well.

    Also at 6’1” he us unusually tall for someone from Japan.

    Record Sport revealed the Hoops interest in Japanese star Itakura last summer but they lost out to Schalke.

    The Germans are toiling to pay the agreed £6million release fee.

    If Celtic were to renew their interest then it would need City to agree to another loan or to take a major hit on the current terms agreed with Schalke.

    Celtic may have added financial muscle if they can move on Christopher Jullien, who is keen to leave Scotland because of his lack of first-team football following his return from injury.

    Watching those clips, his reading of the game looks to be good. Hard to gain a full sense just from highlights of course, but he does seems quick to react to situations, which would help in Ange's system.

    I would rather we missed out on this one. I think we need a left footed centre back this year and that's where we should be looking. Probably a more commanding centre back at that also.
