Immediately assume he’s technically brilliant. Based on nothing but his name.

Full game if anyone is interested. Ortega is no.5. He looks ok so far.

He'd absolutely own it in Scotland with his pace and control, but not sure he'd get away with some of the physicality he uses with the Brothers - they'd penalise it as use of the elbow. Only Morelos gets away with leading with the elbow

Didn't think he looked desperately one-footed, unlike others said, but rather that he was very left foot preference - when he had to use the right he did, but kept it simple. That's sensible, but hopefully also implies he could be improved, especially with the extra time he'd probably get in Scotland.

Not sure he'd give us a * of a lot more than we have in Europe though, given they'll not give him any time or space, and there's less room for error/forgiveness. Also concerned about all the international callups and away time for South America, on top of all the Asian time for the Japanese lads.

But, as others say... I'd trust Ange over my own shoddy reviews, based on 10mins of YouTube videos

Watched the first half of that as I'm bored and doing a quiet weekend.

He looks decent but someone who did stand out immediately with a few passes etc is the number 16 in the middle, Maximo Perrone.

Googled him and low and behold...man City (mark lawwell) credited with an interest.

He looks really cultured. Only 19.

Whats also interesting is at the bottom of thar article it mentions how highly City regard the argentine market and scout it regularly.

Would suggest this has Lawwell junior all over it, if true.

Still to watch the 2nd half myself. Not the most exciting game truth be told and probably expected better from Boca. Was entirely focusing on Ortega but will keep a eye on Perrone.

City Group will definitely have their hands in the South American market. Ange signed Marcos Junior from Fluminense who turned into a great signing for Yokohama. I think that is the type of player Ange and Mark will be looking to bring in rather than signing Man City prospects.

I know what you mean. Some names are just made for technically gifted footballers.

    Lionel Messi
    Zinedine Zidane
    Anthony Ralston

With names like these a pro football career is guaranteed

Since you’ve managed him, does he have any attitude issues? Ever miss training etc.?

Boy looks good, but if we’re shopping in the Latin American market for a LB, I’d rather go for Jesus Gallardo.

71 caps for Mexico, and in his prime at 27. He’s been my first choice target for us in that position for ages. Still playing in the Mexican league with Monterrey. Shouldn’t be altogether that costly.

    This seasons Piero Hincapié?

One things for sure, we were linked to numerous players in the CB role before Starfelt and the same at RB before we got Juranovic. Think we’ll see more LB links in the coming weeks.

    This.

No secret whatsoever we are in the market for a left back.

Prepare for weeks of being linked with every * LB in europe around the 2-10m mark, agents claiming we've made contact to help contract negotiations or hike up a transfer fee elsewhere, and bookies giving speculative odds on random moves based on nothing more than HITC "story".

As much as I like a transfer window and the possibilities it brings, the * roaches that swarm with it are intolerable.

No. Would have to hope he’d settle, but I think he’d be worth the risk.
