    When does LTB expire?

Wouldn't shock me if we hear nothing until June at the earlier.

    English Premier League transfer deadline:

The transfer market is expected to reopen on Friday, June 10, though most international deals will not go through until July 1.

    ———

If we’re going by that would assume we have until June 9th but no idea tbh. Could be June 30th.

Hear this all the time. Not getting my hopes up until it’s official or least a credible source.

    http://sportwitness.co.uk/player-vacation-already-decision-celtic-transfer-contract-negotiated/

Jota’s permanent move from Benfica to Celtic is today reported and detailed by Portuguese newspaper A Bola.

The outlet claims that following the player’s decision to accept the transfer, only ‘a huge turnaround’ would now stop this Celtic deal from happening this summer.

The report says Jota went to Ibiza for his holidays a couple of days ago, and left Glasgow ‘with the conviction’ that he will ‘continue to shine’ at Celtic next season.

It’s said he became convinced of staying after the experience he’s been living with the Hoops, and following a ‘very happy relationship’ with the club, he now decided to say yes to this ‘marriage’.

Regarding Celtic, A Bola writes that the club already told Benfica their intention of triggering the buying option, and are now set to pay €7.5m for the signing, with the Eagles keeping 30% of a future sale.

Jota’s new contract at Celtic is being negotiated.

In his year on loan with the Hoops, the winger has contributed 13 goals and 14 assists in 40 appearances. The report points out he’s pretty happy with the ‘great season’ he’s just had in Glasgow.

I'm 90% sure he's gonna sign now. No insiders info I just heavily get that impression.

Would be ecstatic if he signs permanently man.

Mentioned it before but this isn’t really like any other loan we’ve had. He’s a boyhood fanatic of the club we’ve signed him from and wouldn’t have a better opportunity of getting a chance in their team than right now with their manager getting sacked and by all accounts having a bit of a clear out. Add in that the club are an absolute giant and European football every year and challenging for trophies.

Hard to think how tough a decision it would be for him. Would me monumental if he signs long term.

We could possibly sign a winger as effective as him, but we’d never get one as technical and entertaining as him.

I really hope this is happening.

If that is accurate I would bet it is 30% of any future sell on fee profit. Still high if true but I highly doubt it is 30% of the total fee.

Not really. Look at it this way, Benfica could have made the option to buy £12m and we'd never pay it, so we lose out on the player. Instead we pay £6.5m up front and if we then sell him for £25m down the line, which if he continues the way he has is not beyond the realms of possibility, they get a further £5.5m. The same fee in effect, the difference is we get the player this way and can still make a significant profit.

I really don't have a problem with it if it means we get players that would otherwise be out of our reach and still leaves us a chance of making money on top as well.

The manager that got the sack was notorious for not giving youngsters a chance as well, that’s why we got him, he valued experience over everything. He would have every chance going back now flying off this season and proving himself in pre-season.

He has bought into Celtic, the fanbase and the passion. If he chooses us this early, it’s an empathic statement from him.

Imagine if we sent Owen Moffat out on loan this season, and he was outstanding but he bought into the club he was sent to more than wanting to prove himself for the boyhood team he grew up wanting to play for when he knows he’d have a genuine chance at making a crack of it by staying for pre-season with Celtic, but has been won over that much he doesn’t want to be anywhere else.

You can see he * loves it here and has a passion for us, if he follows through on that regardless of what else could be there for him with the club he’s grown up with and supported, that’s massive, especially for somebody with that talent.
