Seeing that pic of Jota with Starfelt, flying off to Ibiza for a holiday gives me hope he is happy with his future and is going to sign on a permanent for us.

 

Starfelt has been reported to be fuming with Jota, he told him to wear a hat to try and remain inconspicuous and Jota turned up with that one on.

 

That's my thinking.
Didn't expect a starfelt and Jota lads holiday to Ibiza. But the fact that's what Jota has decided to do, suggests he's made good friends and certainly enjoyed his time here.


Bad news, the lads on holiday the next two weeks and we are unlikely to see him signing perm before he returns.

Think he'll sign... Also think it'll be near the end of the window, after his agent has every opportunity to squeeze every penny he can out of the deal and see all options he has available... * scenario, but can't see why his agent would do otherwise.

 

Our option to buy will have run out by then.

If it was just about his agent trying to squeeze money out for a deal then he’d be smarter to get it done before that runs out and Benfica make his asking price higher leaving clubs less money to handover to the agent.

Even then the idea we should still be hanging about at the end of the window for a player who’s already technically here wouldn’t make any sense. If he wanted to be here permanently then it’d be done before the end of the window.

I love him and I’m desperate for him to stay but no way should we be sitting around till the end of the window and waiting on him. That would just tell me he didn’t want to be here and only came cos he couldn’t find anything better.

 

Ive still got a bad feeling that we'll lose this guy to an EPL team. It'll be a mix of his agent holding out for as much cash as he can get and our board * about and trying to pay as little as they can. Then somewhere in the middle a mid-table EPL team will sweep in and take him.

 

His agent will do everything that's in best interest of his player. He won't give a * about our costs. Only a strong opinion by Jota himself will shift that, and even still he'll wait till last minute, unless we let rip with our terms.

I'd love to be wrong and see both Jota and CCV nailed on in the first official days of the window, but I just can't see it...

 

If he’s doing what’s in the best interest for the player then he won’t be waiting until the end of the transfer window or going around trying to squeeze the most money for his deal. It doesn’t add up.

Even if the interest was solely money, it’d be far smarter to get it done now because Benfica wouldn’t be able to demand a higher fee and then demand more in wages and sign ons because of how low the fee is.

Even then, if the only thing Jota is concerned about is money then he won’t be signing here no matter what.
