That's always been the big thing with Tam, so many games he goes missing and you'd forget he is there, I don't O'Riley has had a game where he has disappeared, next season I'd be picking MO'R over TR

Central to just about every one of the best moments of the last decade. Will always be adored by the support, even moreso because he's leaving on a high and at the right time. Glad the board have announced this now so he and Bitton can get proper send offs.

Surprised about this one, even though he’s not suited to the system. Wasn’t even aware his contract was up.

Don’t feel as though we’ve sorted the midfield out tbh, and glad to see Ange thinks similar.

Gutted to see him go. He's been brilliant for us. That goal to seal the Invincible Treble was a very special moment. Wish him all the best for the future.

In moments for us he was world class, in others he was unreliable.. but he gave us so many moments and great goals for his games played... he's a casualty of us moving into our next chapter, but someone who'll always be a cult hero... one of those guys who made you say..."oooofft" a few times a game.

We wouldn’t have won the league this year without him. He’s leaving on a high.

Anyone know where this pic originated from. Was it for the media or Twitter or elsewhere? Wanting to track down the photographer who took it.

Celtic: Nir Bitton & Tom Rogic to leave 'at right time' after nine years at the club
    By Clive LindsayBBC Sport Scotland

Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton leave Celtic as multi-title winners

Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton will end nine-year spells with Celtic this summer, with manager Ange Postecoglou saying it was a joint decision with the players.

The midfielders have won 34 domestic honours between them at the club.

They will leave after Celtic are presented with the Scottish Premiership trophy against Motherwell on Saturday.

"Both of them felt like it was the right time and we as a club agreed," Postecoglou said. "It was never about one party or the other."

The pair, signed during Neil Lennon's first spell as manager, exit despite the Australian describing their role as "crucial" in helping his side win the title and League Cup this season.

Postecoglou said 29-year-old Australia international Rogic, who has scored 44 goals in 272 Celtic appearances since arriving from Central Coast Mariners, was "outstanding", "unbelievable" and "probably as fit and as strong as he's been physically during his whole career at Celtic".

The 30-year-old Bitton, who has played 270 times since moving from Ashdod, was a less regular starter this season but had an "important" role both on and off the park, proving an "immense" influence in helping fellow Israel international Liel Abada make an impact as a 19-year-old at his first club away from home.

Postecoglou explained that their impending departure had been decided following discussions earlier in the season and the fact that both players had spent so long on "the other side of the world" played a part.

"Fortunately, we get to honour two of our greats and say goodbye in front of 60,000 at Celtic Park as champions," he said.

Postecoglou pointed out that an early decision on their future allowed him to sign midfielders Matt O'Riley, Reo Hatate and Yosuke Ideguchi in January and means "we don't have to bring too many in that area in the summer window".

The manager expressed his delight that "one of the greats" James Forrest had "stuck around" by signing a three-year contract extension despite "a frustrating couple of years" for the 30-year-old Scotland winger.

"Part of building a team and building a culture is that you need constants through that - people who have won things, who understand this football club," he said. "I still think he's got a lot to offer us."

Meanwhile, Postecoglou confirmed that Celtic would take up the option to turn the loan that also brought striker Daizen Maeda from Yokohama F. Marinos in January into a permanent transfer.

The rule is 5 appearances for a league medal now - it used to be 10 (that was the case when WGS was manager around 2006-ish that I know for certain as Sutton didn't get one for 05/06 have heard him talk about that when he had 8 or 9 appearances before he was transferred in January '06) but it changed at some point, not entirely sure when. He had 8 in his first season (13/14), 0 the next year - went on loan (14/15) and had more than enough every year since.

Can do certain things in certain games that only a handful of footballers I’ve ever seen can do.

The touch, the strength, the ability to wriggle his way through challenges — * we will miss that!

    What a servant

I know he’s been close to leaving a couple of times in the past, but I’m still a bit surprised its actually happening.

He’s obviously had some issues with fitness during his time here, but he’s undeniably a technically gifted player who’s helped deliver some genuinely unforgettable moments. It’s crazy to think that that it was nine years ago that I was reading the original thread on here about our interest in him. It’s not often that we get that sort of service out of a player anymore, and it’s always going to be a bit sad when it comes to an end.

Whether he’s heading back to Oz or stopping off in one of the richer Asian leagues, I wish him well. I don’t doubt we’ll see him again somewhere down the road.
