The weekend could be his farewell game, he looks like he’s lost his burst of pace over 15 yards and just not good enough off the ball for the way we want to play.

If we want to keep improving then we need to be ruthless and I think Ange will be clearing out a good few more from the squad.

Wouldnt be surrpised to see him going to a leeds if relegated or somewhere like that someone who will be looking for a top 6 finish in the championship , as stated he has lost his pace over 15yards and thatwas his main attribute

I think there's still a place for him here, if he's happy with being a squad/backup player.
Its a long season and he could be useful with squad rotations.

Get solbakken in, forrest has been a great servant but will be on big wages.

A move to the states would suit him unless he wants to stay in the uk.

showed without a shadow of a doubt last night that he's finished at the top level, but if we lose Jota and let johnston go we'll probably keep him out of necessity.

Agree. We saw it this season. Might well not have made the League Cup final without him.

It all depends if we get Jota and dembele probably leaving as well so we are short in that section.
Would like to get a new signing for that right wing either solbakkenn or someone similar .
I think the club will probably keep Forrest till the end of next season and play in the early rounds of cup games .

Celtic Football Club are delighted to announce that one-club man James Forrest has signed a new contract extension, committing his future to the club for a further three years.

Fresh after helping the club secure the Scottish Premiership title in a remarkable first season in charge for Ange Postecoglou, Forrest has been rewarded for his efforts by penning a new deal to continue his legacy with Celtic until 2025.

The league title win is Celtic’s 10th title in the last 11 years, with Forrest being involved in each of those successful campaigns to cement his position amongst the pantheon of club legends.

That latest trophy takes the 30-year-old up to 20 medals and to fourth in the club’s all-time most decorated players list, passing the Lisbon Lion and arguably the club's greatest ever player Jimmy Johnstone's tally of 19.

His 13 seasons of service have produced 10 league titles, five League Cups and five Scottish Cups, with only Scott Brown (22), Billy McNeill (23) and Bobby Lennox (25) lifting more trophies.

It's a dynasty that will live on now for another threeyears, as the club great will eye more silverware in the years to come.

Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou said: “James is my kind of player and has that attacking intent that can open up defences to make goals, not only for himself, but for others as well.

“He’s been a great servant to the football club thanks to his brilliant quality and attributes, and those have made him a proven contributor to the club’s success – you only have to look at his medal collection to see that.

“I know we will get more of this from him next season and beyond, and I’m delighted that this deal has been finalised.”

Shocked at that tbh, too injury prone these days and when he does play he looks nowhere near the player he was hopefully not a sign that Jota won't be here and we won't be signing another winger.

If he can stay fit...he's of use.

I'd have maybe wanted to see new faces coming in and then see him moved on after but I'm not gonna moan about him staying on for the full length of the extension.

Surprising I must say, not because I dislike Forrest but just how sparingly Ange has used him this season.

If he can get a good pre-season then I wouldn't put it past him to hit the heights of a few seasons back.

    In Ange's judgement I trust...

3 years seems absolutely needless at this point and I say that as probably his biggest fan on here.
