Aye he signed that 5 year deal after a good run, no sure if he got an extension after or it's still running but he would've been on a good bit..

Good signs for the future as Ange will know what we need in the middle..

Surprised by this if true but quite pleased. Maybe it points to a bigger squad turnover than I expected. If Bitton goes we must have another 6 lined up, hopefully someone more suited to Ange's style.

Hes been a great servant, did think he ahould have left earlier at least a couple of times.

But tbh hes been very good this season when asked.

If he does leave wish him all the best, if he does have a year left and stays, fine.

Hope he gets to see the next couple of games with minutes.

Is that Nir's daughter standing next to Liel Abada there?

Looks like hes making a family choice.

New baby on the way, might be time to go home to Israel with his bank account after years of service.

The cost of living in Israel is very high, but land, houses and rent are actually on average about 30% less than the US.

He'll be looking an easy gig at a big israeli side for a half decent wage.

All the best to him if he leaves.

Tremendous servant to the club. And it frees up a good wage chunk fir a much needed Defensive mid.

I would have had him out the door a long time ago he had a spell of a few months years ago where he looked like he could be excellent and regressed ever since

Good technical player but never had the physical or mental side. Never been good enough in the air for a guy his height either.

Had the potential to play the Busquets role for us (albeit a poor mans busquets) and did have a bit of a resurgence but never able to sustain any kind of form to make a place his own.

A decent squad utility player and his departure further signals our movement into a new era.

He’s done pretty well for us over the years. Not the worst and I always felt he liked it here which means a lot. Frustrating player as he had a calamity in him or a blood rush to the head.

18 trophies he has won here, i think Jamesy is the only more successful one in the squad. I'm sure a few Israeli clubs will be interested and I wish him the best.

Sad to see him going but the timings right. Was solid enough anytime he was called upon this season and captained us a couple of times too.

Leverkusen away he was phenomenal, once he went off injured things fell apart.

Came back well this season after his UCL nightmare. Considering just how much of a liability people were thinking he was at that point, he went on to be a fairly reassuring presence when brought on to see out games we were leading by a single goal. Was also really good against Livingston, helping us finally win a match there.

Would be happy to see him stay, but good luck to him if he's off.

*edit* Oh, and shout-out to his couple of marauding runs forward, when out of nowhere he just decided to take on about 5 players :giggle1:

Start of the season I wanted him gone. Very glad now he stayed, played his part definitely this season. Think he’s a solid squad player and would of kept him but I only wish him the very best.

If he is leaving it's probably because we don't have any CL qualifiers this year for him to get thrown into a makeshift defence for. That cuts down his appearance bonus for the season by a massive amount. It wouldn't change his win bonuses at all right enough...

Bitton will leave Celtic, back in the country is being considered

After nine years, the midfielder, who is suffering from a minor injury, is ending his contract at the Scottish luxury club and may return to play in Israel. The Israeli won seven championships in the green and white uniform and is on his way to achieving the eighth

For nine years Nir Bitton wore the Celtic uniform and at the end of the season he will say goodbye to her. The midfielder, who is ending his contract, will not stay at the Scottish luxury club and the sports channel has learned that he is considering returning to Israel, among other things.

In the last three games Bitton has been absent from Celtic games due to leg pain, but this season too he has been an important part of her successful season in the local arena. The contact recorded 36 appearances in which he scored two goals, added two assists and also wore the captain’s armband in a number of games.

Nir Bitton has been an integral part of Celtic's championship streak and has won seven of these throughout his time in Scotland, alongside which he has lifted four trophies and six league trophies. Now, he only needs one title to become the most decorated Israeli player and he is close to achieving it - the eighth Scottish Championship with the White Greens.

Throughout his career, Bitton played in only two clubs and the first is of course MS Ashdod where he grew up and got the opportunity in the senior team. During the four years he played in Israel, he recorded 122 appearances in which he scored 14 goals and in the summer of 2013 he embarked on a journey in Scotland, which he will end very soon with a busy closet of titles.
