Let’s be honest we got 9 in a row in March 2020, so from then obviously the shambles last season when rightly so I wasn’t confident in any of the games then one at ibrox we lost wasn’t confident was expectant and fukin delighted before and after the 3-0 game but wasn’t really confident and 2 weeks ago before it I wasn’t either again delighted but aye no gonna lie mate most confident I’ve felt in 2 years b the scum

 

Missed him today.

 

losing him for today was so * vital, we had no one to keep the ball up their side of the pitch, no one to hold the ball up or scare their defenders, this man is vital to our game now.

 

Didn't realise how much he brought to the team until today's game.

I don't think we lose that if he's playing. He wins us fouls up the park and has bullied their defence both games.

I really hope he's fit for Ross County.

Agree. He’s extremely important, just like Kyogo was before getting injured. The team needs to gel much faster when we switch strikers. Can’t afford to take 4 weeks to connect

Yeah really missed him. We lacked strength and presence up front and in midfield. He would have given us both.

 

Had a bad feeling when he went down last week.

I think one of the reasons it seemed as if we were struggling to get out at times was because we didn't really have anyone to hit up top.

This was nothing like the 2019 final where we had Lewis Morgan up front. But we could definitely have used him.

If we had gone with the same team as Ibrox I think we'd have probably seen a different outcome. Yet it must also be remembered that we were 2 inches from it being game over after CCV smashed one off the bar so it's difficult to say definitively.

 

We missed him, gives us the ability to go long and to cross more often. Although Maeda has scored a few headers already he's not got any presence about him in the air and doesn't give you the option of putting the ball up the middle.

 

Don't think he'd have made much difference today in all honesty. The quality of our passing and decision making were all over the shop and our crosses were straight to Mclaughlin. He'd have just been another isolated figure up there.

He buys fouls and ruffles defenders.

He would definitely be a huge out ball today.

GG would've made us much more competitive going forward and is a decent defender at times.

There's a reason we haven't lost against them with GG one the pitch.

 

No debate about what he offers in these type of games but we probably wouldn't have got the ball to him to make any use of the situation. The service just wasn't there.

 

He'd have been given more fouls against today than he'd be given for unfortunately .... don't forget the ref.

 

No question he was a massive loss to us today. We missed his physicality so much today. Hope Ange is right and he is good to go next weekend.

A novel idea would be to play a different way to reflect him not being there but that's for another thread.

 

Because he wasn't playing the continually pressed us high knowing that eventually we'd go long and it would be recycled by them..

Happened all the time..

 

Launching diagonals to maeda and kyogo with a combined height of goldson big man 100% would made a difference today. They turned it into a dogfight and came out on top. They looked a team who knew this trophy was the only one they can realistically win this season and it showed.

 

Really missed his presence today, he is the forward we need when playing them and it showed today.

 

Yep, made us go long more than we normally would cause they knew they would recycle the ball more often than not.
