As much as I usually dislike comments like his after the 3-0 game… I think it worked in our favour tonight. They wanted to hurt him, and it plays into his style

the amount of punishment he takes is unreal and he has no protection from the * referee's, still he did very well today, should have scored with that free header.

Didn't really get much of a look at goal other then the one header but just like Daizen what a shift he put in for the team today. Took some serious physical punishment and lapped it all up. Even had a brilliant hook clear from a cross later in the game in our own box that any center back would have been proud of.

 

That tackle and Ralston’s on Kent were class

 

Just watched the full thing back and other than the header he didnt do anything overly noteworthy in an attacking sense. Actually gave the ball away quite a lot.

but really put himself about and even helped out with a few defensive clearances.

 

As was Bittons.
Big GG put himself about and his style defiantly unsettled them. He did give me the fear that time he tried to dribble out of defense and they nearly scored.

 

Match highlight 83.20, big GG chasing attackers down the left side of our box. I expect it from Maeda, but not the big guy so deep into such a hectic game.

 

Man of the Match for me. He didn't get a lot of service but his defensive work when pressing and even at the back at times has to be admired. He gave it all for the team alongside Maeda. Hopefully he gets more service in the final third in the last few games so he can demonstrate his attacking qualities.

 

He is fearless. Absolute beast of a player, and he winds them up too.

 

Laid a brilliant ball right into the path of Abada who should've at least got a shot on target.

 

Turning into some option, he is a feisty player as well but smart enough not to get involved. They looked like they were tempting him into losing it but he kept calm and was one of our best players. Good goalscorer and solid big player, brilliant to have him.

 

Said before, he's just a complete nuisance for defenders. Moves about, bumps into them, shifts into spaces that make them follow or lose him... What he's doing isn't quantified by the contribution he adds to us, as much as what he takes away from the opponents.

Oh, and he also gets goals from time to time... Which is nice!

 

Aye, if you're gonna be the villain, you've got to have a cool head. See Scott Brown. Morelos, despite being a pain, can't control himself and gets reds (if the refs were impartial).
