To suggest he's simply "chasing the money" is mental. Fair enough if he was going to Watford or the likes. He's going to one of the top 3 teams in the world with one of the top 3 managers in the world.

Also a team who haven't been afraid to give young players game time. Alexander-Arnold has been their first choice right back since he was 18. Joe Gomez was a regular by the age of 19/20 before injuries * him. Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliott are now important squad players.

Shame to lose him but can hardly begrudge him the move.

Good luck to the lad. He obviously backs himself to the hill and thinks he can make an impact.

Look at Kelleher for example. Waste of time any young player joining that club. He'd get more time here and its beyond dispute. Madness.

 

Good luck to the young man no idea what position he will end up but as of right now he is the same position as rocco vata and I 100% believe vata will go on to have a far better career than Doak.

Doak is the prime example of being quick and powerful in the younger age groups I seen no guile about his play just raw power and pace that won't last long against the men which he found out in his brief outings in the 1st team, Tried to knock it and run past but was outwitted by experienced defenders not outpaced.

Sincerely though good luck and I do hope the lad has some sort of career in the professional game.

Can't blame a young lad having his head turned by a club like Liverpool and earning a few million whilst there.

Possibly a chance he gets game time in domestic cup competition as well against a higher standard of teams

Liverpool have secured the signing of young Celtic winger Ben Doak for a compensation fee of around £600,000.



The Athletic revealed earlier this month that the Premier League title contenders were in pole position to land the highly-rated 16-year-old.



Doak, who had yet to sign a professional contract at Celtic, had attracted interest from a host of top clubs.



Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou handed him a senior debut against Dundee United in January as they tried to convince one of their brightest academy prospects to stay put. He also featured late on in February’s Old Firm derby win over Rangers.



However, Doak hasn't featured since after deciding to continue his career south of the border. Jurgen Klopp’s track record of putting his faith in youth and developing youngsters such as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Curtis Jones was pivotal in his decision.



Leeds United are understood to have offered him more lucrative terms but his heart was set on trying to make the grade at Anfield.



Doak, who scored a hat-trick for Scotland Under-17s against Georgia this week, won’t be eligible to play academy games for Liverpool until next season.

Curtis Jones, Harvey Elliot, Kelleher has payed 8 games this season behind possibly the best keeper on the planet, Trent was 18 when given his debut, Gomez was 18, Ben Woodburn got a chance and never took it, Neco Williams given 30 games in 3 years, Kaide Gordon now, Sterling, Ibe.

If you’re good enough you’ll get a chance at Liverpool. That’s not even guaranteed here.
