Correct me if I'm mistaken mate but weren't you dead against the 'jobs for the boys' recruitment policy the board employed?

 

Generally, yes I'm against it.
But doesn't mean every ex player is not to be hired.

I'm against guys like brown just getting a job, because.

Mjallby has since proven to us, he is a solid defensive coach. He also looks to be a guy who still takes good care of his own fitness etc, so I'd be inclined to think he wouldn't go down the Lennon route of binge drinking and fatty foods.

Fair play mate, I actually think brown would have a lot to offer based on what I've read/heard of him when he was here. Supposedly very good with the youth players and being such a natural leader he could be a very influential coach with those qualities.

But I agree about Mjallby, always liked him and he talks very well whenever he's done punditry on our games.

If he was to start(continue?) With the youth and work his way up, is more palatable. But then you also end up perhaps with a Kennedy situation, where they just progress regardless and don't go away and prove themselves capable of managing a club like us, by actually managing other clubs.

It works sometimes, but not all the time.
