I think some of our combination play down the wings recently is as good as I've ever seen at the club. That move where the full back drops in, the winger stays wide and the 8 overlaps and the wee variations within it are * beautiful to watch.

So what are some of the other best combinations that spring to mind from older teams? Nothing so fancy, but MON's team hitting the ball up to a striker, flicking on to the wing back and ball into the box for the other striker comes to mind. Also, the Rodgers winger/full back overlap and cut back to the penalty spot where the 10 makes the late run. Can't even remember how many goals we scored like that with KT cutting it back for Rogic.

I know this is a * international break thread and a half I'm just so buzzing off the team right now :ange2:

Neil Lennon’s first season, Hooper would drop deep, Stokes would pull wide, Sammy, Commons, Maloney or Paddy McCourt would take the space that was gained in the middle off of the left and Scott Brown would take himself out of RM to make up a 3 in the middle with Kayal and Joe Ledley to make it solid.

    Was * immense.

I read the title of the thread in Alan Partridge's voice and assumed this to be the type of content.
