Gutted tho, was dreaming of Maeda running through on the beast.

 

It definitely hurts us as his pressing and pace would've terrified them and forced them to sit deep. Same with Kyogo (who I hope is still involved)..

Giakoumakis will still get us up the pitch and bully their back-line..

 

I think Jota being available softens the blow of Kyogo massively.

Jota will have that backline terrified. Honestly, Tavenier will be on his * most of the match.

 

Well GG has a couple games to impress otherwise I'd rather Abada start upfront for the derby, atleast he has pace to run in behind and can press from the front so our play style wont be affected much.

 

Gives us a bit more in both boxes with Tony, Carter-Vickers, Starfelt, Jackie and O'Riley as well..

We just lose that game changing pace and press from the 9 but still more than capable of dominating and winning the game from the central midfield trio alone..

Will need Forrest and Jota to really have a big game. Jota alone is a game changer to be fair..

 

He's a genuine option i think, depending on how Jackie does..

He showed up at McDiarmid that he's more than capable when being fed, that he can make runs in behind, press and put chances away..

 

Would I rather have Rogic and Maeda here? Of course. But O Reily seems a natural replacement and the 10 minute cameo from Jackie against hibs showed he can hold the ball up and get into some dangerous positions.

Plus Jota coming back is massive.

 

Guchi may come in with Hatate further forward, but aye at least we have much much better depth, than a few weeks ago..

Giakoumakis needs some game time, but he may go for the speed of Abada who looks better centrally tbf, again an option hopefully Kyogo will make the match day squad tho.

 

No Maeda is a huge blow.

It's getting absolutely ridiculous how often we're playing the scum without a recognised striker.

This stretches as far back into the Rodgers era where we were forced to play Mikey Johnston up front at the Bigotdome in 2018.

Since then we've had Lewis Morgan, Ryan Christie or Moi being shoved up there.

 

Isn't Giakoumakis a recognised striker?
