Just to note, my opinion that we'd be struggling to keep him any longer than the minimum term has nothing to do with that, or any other Twitter post. Not panicking, was just very obvious from the outset that he was a massive talent.

 

Still think (hope) this will be announced by the end of the window. Probably right at the end. You know what we (football fans) are like, you always want something done at the end of the window on deadline day.

I don’t use KDS, so no idea how reliable he is, but to be honest I was told a few hours apart that McGree was expected to sign and then Jota had agreed his deal, so he may not have been talking out his *. I was told that Jota wouldn’t be announced immediately though and hadn’t put pen to paper yet (the latter bit now becoming concerning).

 

Benfica have every right to offer him a new deal. Although they’ve agreed a fee with us for the sale, Jota could theoretically sign a new deal with them and, in doing so, reject us.

 

He’s going to be a Celtic player officially at the end of this window,

My gut feeling is that this will all be fine and Benfica Twitter accounts are jumping on the fact that he was back over there for a couple of weeks to make a story out of nothing.

I firmly believe Jota will stay here. He signed a loan agreement with an option to purchase for £6.5m, Benfica cannot change that now.

If he wants to stay he will stay and I've seen nothing to suggest he will not stay here.

He came here to play regularly, something he won't do at Benfica, regardless of what people say, he will not be their regular first choice player.

I think people have seen the hype surrounding him here and the Benfica fans know the club have * up by letting him go for such a low fee, that now stories are being fabricated to suggest x y and z could happen, no, its bollocks.

You said he agreed an offer from us but hadnt signed? Should give him a deadline to make his mind up to give us plenty of time to look for a replacement imo
