    Don't mean to be a comedown, but after first seeing this lad play, I've always had my doubts that we'd get anything more than the absolute minimum term that was agreed out of him. Hope I'm wrong.

    Big mistake if he chooses to go back to Benfice.He obviously thrives under Ange and his system and there’s no guarantee he’ll be the same player back there under different management.We’d still have £6mil to find a replacement anyway and I’m sure Ange has a few players in mind too.

    If Benfica did table a new deal and gave him some assurances about playing time I wouldn't grudge him it, it's not like they're some diddy team. Hopefuly just twitter pish though.

    Think I remember a lot of Benfica fans saying Everton wasn't good enough for them and they'd rather Jota played instead.

    Here's hoping that's pish and/or their board don't think the same way

    Can confirm that Everton is crap. 20M€, quite a few games for the Brazilian NT under his belt... Strong contender to Benfica's biggest flop this century. Hard to explain how such a hyped player can be so bad.
