Greg Taylor and Callum McGregor. These are the only two players that started tonight that started the final game of last season, only 8 months ago.

A sad indictment on just how bad Lennon was and the awful position in which he left this club.

    Barkas - Rubbish.
Ajer - EPL, great profit to be fair.
Welsh - Thrown in the deep end.
    Kenny - Utter rubbish.
Turnbull - Injured, to be fair.
Brown - Aberdeen, hung out to dry.
    Christie - Championship, mismanaged.
Elyounoussi - EPL, highlighting the reliance on loan players.
Edouard - EPL, great profit to be fair, but chucked it in.

Is there a player brought in to replace those mentioned above that hasn't been an upgrade so far?

I’d love to still have Elyounoussi, despite how good Jota is.

Thought he was excellent and would thrive under Ange. Was never ours to begin with though and neither is Jota at the moment to be fair.

Jota is a different sort of player. Probably a more traditional Celtic winger in the sense that he is better at beating a man and more entertaining, but I rated Moi highly. Top level decision making and an unbelievable goal threat.

I feel like Moi left a lot to be desired, especially in his second season. Sure, he spent a fair bit of time out injured, but I feel like for the price tag supposedly slapped on him, he fell short. Jota on the other hand would be better value for money.

The only position I feel like we may not have adequately covered is CB. Ajer going made us a very healthy profit, but we've replaced him with Starfelt, who has less sell on value and arguably hasn't been as good; and CCV on loan.

Or, slightly less controversially, maybe they do it because they then only need to bring a single translator? And they can control the interviews and questioning more easily?

Won't happen after one season. Unlike Rodgers and Gerrard, he's an unknown quantity down south and I doubt they'll rate successfully managing Celtic to a title that significant a triumph on its own. For EPL interest, he'd probably need to do something in Europe.

I think Ange will stay 3 seasons unless he gets an unbelievable offer in terms of big club in a big league where he is allowed to come in and make all the footballing decisions as he has done with Celtic so far - upgrade backroom staff, players, etc. I'd be interested to see him at a club like Man United which has been a mess since Sir Alex retired - that would be some project to fix.

Having said that, I think he should stay at Celtic for at least 2-3 seasons and see what happens from there. Great club, great culture and there's a lot of love between Ange and the supporters. The perfect place to be at this moment.

If they were smart, they'd go for Ange as the #1 target. I personally think he is too good for Everton. The project at Celtic is much more interesting and aligned to who he is as a coach and person.

Honestly, Everton would NEVER go for him. Certainly not at this stage.

Even if they did, hed be sacked in weeks. The EPL is a * circus, Ange would be given zero time to implement his vision, and those * English fans would be on him from day 1.

Celtic fits him PERFECTLY. A big club thats always challenging for honors and playing in europe, allowing him breathing space to work on the squad and his vision.

It simply just doesnt happen in the epl these days. Not anymore.
Theyve gotten too big for their britches and all fancy themselves as Real Madrids. When in fact 90 percent of the clubs down there are rancid little * holes who these managers wouldn't touch with a * stick if it wasn't for the astronomical wages and transfer budgets.

Still waiting for the day all these epl sugar daddys up sticks, leave their vanity projects in the *, and watch the hole farce collapse on itself.

Professional football being what it is (ie, highly mercenary) you just know that eventually the interest will come for Ange from richer clubs and eventually the offer will be too good to ignore.

Hopefully that's a good few (highly successful) seasons away but I'd expect Ange would only go to a club with strong fan culture and which constitutes an interesting project - much as Celtic would've looked when the offer came.

From that perspective, a club like Everton might make sense. But not yet FFS!

Hes a right dodgy Australian whos only making celtic play awrite. No 8-0 destructions. His experience is from the side of the world that calls football.. soccer. So the epl won't want him.

I actually like Starfelt, but he’s a huge downgrade from Ajer. That said, Ajer leaving was outwith Ange’s control and the money brought in from the sale has played a huge part in the rebuild.

Not replacing Christie for 5 months also undoubtedly hurt us. I’ve no doubt he’d have thrived under Ange. Again though, his departure wasn’t of Ange’s making or choosing.
