I think that any goalkeeper in Scotland could have put a better if not an equal performance to him.
To be honest o think he puts the wrong you on , next time maybe try a hooped one

Here's me checking this forum in the hope there's some movement on Jota or CCV signing permanently, or maybe even Karamoko signing a new deal.

But nah, big game day.....contract extension for Bain. :84:

Ideally be punt Barkas and have Bain as third choice with Oluwayemi making a claim for number 2

    Brilliant

Celtic FC are pleased to announce that goalkeeper, Scott Bain has signed a new contract extension that will see him remain at the club until the summer of 2024.

The 30-year-old who joined initially on loan from Dundee in January 2018 has since played 74 times for the Celts and three times for Scotland.

Included in those 74 games are 2018/19 season League Cup and Scottish Cup winning final appearances over Aberdeen and Hearts – the win over the Tynecastle club sealing the Treble Treble.

Scott Bain said: “I am delighted to agree this new contract extension. It is a privilege to be part of this great club and I am so pleased to extend my future at Celtic.

“We have already had success under the new manager, it is fantastic working with him and the rest of our backroom team, and I want to join them and the other players at the club in working hard to achieve more and more success for our fans.”

Happy to keep Bain as back up until we get another good option, reckon the young keeper might make a step up next season so will have the experienced quality of Hart with young potential coming through with Bain as the back up.

Don't rate him at all. Would much rather a better standard of keeper under Hart. Looks like the end for Barkas though.

He’s apparently a hugely popular character in the dressing room and good to have around the place. Also apparently very good with the younger goalkeepers.

As long as this is with a view to him being third choice then I’m fine with it, but he’s not good enough to be our second choice.

Fine with me as back up/3rd choice. Not gonna get a brilliant goalie as back up I doubt, we rarely ever have.

Pointless when we can’t rely on him, just like Griffiths.

This is my problem with him. He's nowhere near good enough to be our number 2..

There's much better out there who'd come for a few grand more to sit and wait in the wing's..

His distribution is bombscare material and so overrated.
He's tiny for a keeper. Anytime a set piece comes in he's rooted to his line. For corners I've seen him out jumped and swamped in his 6 yard box getting beat in the air by player's heading it, when he's jumping with both hands in the air.
    He has no presence whatsoever.
    Isn't confident.
Flaps at ball's and shots from distance..

3rd choice? Aye, knowing that he'd likely never get a game. Backup for Hart? * no way..

We should be cutting all the deadwood loose..

    3rd choice for me.

Would rather the young guy Owulayemi gets a shot.

Makes no sense. After Taylor the board works hard on making up for the good transfers of the Japanese bhoys. Even Siegrist for free next summer would have been an improvementfor the back up position!

    No issue with this tbh..

I think the criticism he faces can be a bit OTT given he is our back up goalkeeper. Which back up goalkeeper in the last 20 years has been better than him? Zaluska, Mark brown, Logan Bailly, Dom Cervi, Barkas, Hedman etc. ? None of them and defos not Zaluksa either.

Guys got plenty of trophies and medals to show from our most successful seasons n aw..

And you can tell he’s quite popular among the players as well..

So all in all no problem, * bless x
