Nothing to do with ‘keeping track’; you were questioning someone’s claim that they have a good scouting system, which they do, as is common knowledge. Just because you didn’t possess that knowledge doesn’t make the guy wrong or Udinese a poor club.

 

I think he has been excellent and would put him way above Starfelt. If not a starting CB, certainly next in line IMO. Admittedly Starfelt might bring a bit more when he drives forward, but nothing exceptional.

 

Or he was asking a perfectly valid question for someone who didn’t have any knowledge of their transfer business…

Udinese in the serie A would be a brilliant 6 months for the lad and set him up brilliantly for next year with us

But no, they can not purchase him.

He's a good talent and we need him to be here for a few more years. But would be good if this is the interest he gets now.
Just imagine the interest in a year or two if he continues to improve - which arguably he will if he moves to Udinese on loan. Would come back with experience and having learnt more.

In the mean time, we would still have CCV, Starfelt and a returning Julien with the options to promote lawal and/or Murray if needed.

Id be okay with that.

Then, if all goes well, we sell Starfelt in the summer, Welsh comes back a much better player to take his place in the main three and we can look to loan lawal out to serie A next year to do the same

He's needed here far more than we need him to get 6 months experience in Serie A.

With the success of Hickey (another one that folk turned their nose up at when we were linked before his move) and the fee they paid for him it's obviously alerted these clubs to potential bargains in our league. Talk of Bologna chasing Ramsey as well.

It's a confidence boost for Welsh but I want him to stay here and get minutes. I rate him and handled correctly he'll be a big asset for us.

 

We don’t need another number 10. We’re coming down with them as it is. In the unlikely event that Wolf comes in, it’s for the wings, imo. I do agree we need a winger and a backup keeper, but we could probably wait til the summer for the latter. CB a bigger priority for me, but really I’ll be happy if we get a LB and a decent winger in (even on loan).

He's shown he's very capable and he's been a very important player for us, especially with Julien out. Can see the point in loaning out folk like Coffey, Moffat, Shaw etc, but we've often been reliant on Welsh last season and this. Makes no sense, we'd at the very least miss having him as an option.

 

No * way I want Bitton anywhere near centre half again. The unit is a bombscare there. Needs to play his natural position of centre mid.
