    Aye, it's certainly not insurmountable.

Annoying as the huns are scraping through games and we're spluttering along the way. The only game that I think we deserved nothing was Livi away.

Every other one has been littered with scandalous misses; Ajeti 2 yard tap in v Dundee United and Giakoumakis x2 in injury time v Livi at home.

Aye, I think that's probably where the source of frustration comes. He's done remarkably well with the larger tasks, overhauling the squad, developing players and the playing style and then made some gaffes with smaller stuff which annoyingly have normally cost us

Nothing is lost yet. We need a huge game v St Johnstone and a big January transfer window though. We are desperately short on quality when Kyogo and Jota are out

Felt it was a mistake not starting Taylor giving the weak looking attack. Taylor and McGregor are a big part of how we function and a lot of play comes through them, Scales is new and he's not got the mobility to overlap down the line and not picked up the right movement etc to be trusted yet.

Not sure if he's not fully fit or has a problem though as he seemed to rest him for the final and then he was subbed in the final as well. So could be that.

Even then i'd have played Juranovic there but I can see how we never as we needed him as one of the attackers otherwise we'd have been * for changing the front 3.

Because our signing policy is * poor so often. I have no clue as to who is in charge of our signings, but for every success, there seems to be 2-3 that are utter * dross. Good players don't miss those.

We were just so flat from about 10 minute's in today..

Honestly knew we wouldn't score from early second half. Just felt like that kinda night..

Don't know if some player's went for a booze on the Sunday night or what but we were miles off it..

Just hard to take when you consider who we were uo against and how limited they were squad wise..

If we're no all out with our tempo then team's sit back, ride it out and we go flat. Or we go all out and run out of steam and if we've no got a nice cushion, then game becomes a slog..

So we can't discuss the sub because hypothetically 1,000,000 different things could've happened since to rule him out of tonight's game?

The bottom line is he took an unnecessary risk with our only fit striker during our busiest period for games. There's no defence of it.

The fact he might have been injured/got COVID/been struck with lightning since is irrelevant. Ange wouldn't have control over those things but he did have control over the Betis game and he shouldn't even have been at the stadium never mind in harm's way.

Agree with your point about the squad being so bad in the background but that should've seen utmost caution from Ange being conscious of that.

Aye, actually thought he took far too long to bring Taylor on too. He's linked well with MJ can only presume he's not 100% either.

Aye had the same feeling from early on...we just weren't moving the ball or swapping positions quickly enough to cause them any real problems

It was actually an easy night for St Mirren..

We had chances and broke through them a few time's but we didn't exactly pepper them..

    Shameful performance that was..

So many big player's shat the responsibility and that front 3 haven't got it when it comes to the crunch..

Moffat no yet anyway but the other 2 are shitebags in the tackle and when it comes to big moment's..

Theres more arsing about with the centre-backs without Taylor playing or Juranovic at left-back as Ralston despite playing well he doesn't give us the same outlet from the right to get us up the park in terms of him linking defence to attack.

Taylor is always on the move and opens up wee spaces and plays 1-2s to get us up the park quicker so does Juranovic when he played there although not as much as Taylor still a lot better than Ralston or Scales or Montgomery. To play the way we play as well we need that type of off the ball running and movement from players. To lose that and not have proper strikers and be missing wingers and Turnbull and attacking subs it's too much.

To be fair tonight we were missing Hart, Starfelt, Taylor, Turnbull, Jota, Forrest and Kyogo. That is 7 first team players. St. Mirren wanted the game called off and they were only missing 5. Just one of those nights. Absolutely imperative we win on boxing day now.

Can discuss it all we like but making up a hypothetical like Kyogo would’ve got on the end of that Ralston cross as a criticism against the manager doesn’t really make sense either but each to their own.

Second half especially was infuriating watching Scales constantly taking up space McGregor and Rogic were in.

It got to the stage McGregor was going on the right and upfront to try make space and Rogic was out on the left.

McGregor was constantly trying to tell Scales to get out the way but he kept * going inside.

Okay but feels a bit pedantic.

If Kyogo hadn't played v Betis, had avoided injury & all other acts of * since and was on that field tonight then he'd have been there for that Ralston cross

Aye agreed - wanted to see some senior players taking responsibilty and driving us on but it never really came. Maybe 4 or 5 good chances unfortunatey most went to Mikey J and the only one he caught right was the one he should have crossed!

We rarely ever seem to pepper a goalkeeper, where you come away from the game thinking he kept them in it or kept the score down. We seem to miss the target, Johnston, Rogic and Bitton constantly balloon shots over and wide, we barely ever hit the target from a freekick either and then we pass up a lot of big chances without even hitting a shot.

Only game this season I recall a keeper having to make save after save was Leverkusen at home, where we probably would have had 3/4 goals if not for quality goalkeeping. In the League we squander and pass up a lot of chances even though we create a lot and have lots of shots, the keepers are never usually involved.

“Statistics” show that St Mirren we’re lucky not to concede tonight.

In all honesty I think we made it easy for them to not concede. We offered nothing up top.

Please tell me the Johnstone experiment is over.
