With Welsh carrying a knock, I am looking forward to seeing CCV back alongside Starfelt on Sunday.

Hope we sign him, he has been solid. He’s young and we could get many years good service from. The one area I don’t want us to gamble with is the defence and he would be a great acquisition.

 

Watching the highlights and have to say he was excellent today. Some nice play into forward areas as well as rock solid at the back.

 

I'd absolutely love him to sign.

I have this gut feeling he won't be here in the summer though.

 

Again another, who may want a shot at the Champions League..

We're in pole position in getting him on a permanent deal.

 

I'm pretty sure I read early on after he arrived that he said something like his priority for this season was to make sure he was part of the USA team for the World Cup. Which partly explains why he agreed to some kind of extension with Spurs but also wanted to play a lot of football this season at a high standard.

Am sure Celtic's buy-out clause is nowhere near the figure that has been thrown around in the past few weeks, and that if Ange & co decide he is worth bringing him here permanantly then hopefully that is what will happen, but am not going to get my hope up too high just yet.

Not least of which is because really haven't heard CCV say much about what he wants for after this season. Was agreeing whatever it was with Spurs purely an insurance policy just in case coming here didn't work out, or that he sees his long term future there, but didn't feel as though he'd get enough opportunity at Spurs this season, given his ambition to play at the WC?

Niskanen tried to beat him first half and he was beasted like VVD used to do to player's..

 

Solid performance today apart from one wee misplaced pass which, thankfully, never came to anything. Really hope we sign him along with Jota.

 

Was excellent for sure defensively and with his passing out of the back as well. Great to see him back.

 

£6 million makes a lot more sense than the £10 million that was punted around.

I really, really like CCV, but if it's between him and Jota, I'd rather we secure Jota first.

Have my doubts that it's 6. Wouldn't be surprised if it's lower..

He's worth it though..

 

Considering I don’t see us making any big sales in the summer i canny us paying 6m for him and similar for Jota without CL money guaranteed.

 

I'm sure I read somewhere it was £3m.
