    Mine is a banner that was displayed at Celtic Pk by the Belfast CSC Erin Go Brach. It is in memory of massive Celtic fan Thomas ‘Kidso’ Reilly. A 22 year old Catholic man gunned down by a British Soldier as he walked away from a checkpoint in West Belfast August 1983. It was a sunny day and Kidso was shirtless and more importantly unarmed. An 18 year old British soldier was suspended with full pay and short time later reinstalled into his regiment with no charges.

    He was only home for a short stay as he was a roadie for Bananarama. The three girls attended Thomas’ funeral and wrote the song ‘Rough Justice’ and Spandaut Ballet who he also worked with released ‘Through the Barricades.’ I remember Thomas well as he travelled to games with my da and a group of fellow fans from the North. This was before Supporters buses and we travelled by boat then two trains to get to Glasgow in the early 80s. Always remember him giving me money to play the game machines on the boat.

    Gone but never forgotten. R.I.P. Thomas ‘Kidso’ Reilly.

    You know, for all his skill, his genius, his destroying England etc. My most abiding memory is him scoring a goal in a charity match and the physio ran on and gave him a line of marching powder during the celebration :giggle1:
