Surely that just means we move it more than anyone else, rather than better? :fear:

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou insists nothing will be decided in the title race in the coming matches as he warned "let's keep our pistols in our holsters".

Both they and Rangers face trips to Edinburgh this midweek, with the leaders in action against Hibs at Easter Road on Wednesday night.

Hearts welcome Celtic 24 hours later, with the visitors knowing they'll go five points clear of the Jambos with a game in hand if they win.

Asked if that would confirm a two-way title fight though Postecoglou was in no mood to make any definitive statements.

He replied: "Statement games are at the back end of the year.

"Let’s just keep our pistols in our holsters for a little while."

The match is a re-run of the opening game of the season which saw Postecoglou lose his first Premiership match in charge

Celtic will hope to set that right on Thursday but will have to do so without the injured Christopher Jullien.

Still no timeframe has been offered about the French centre-back’s return despite his comeback oriiginally been earmarked for October.

However, Postecoglou has confirmed that both Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic are fit and available for the trip to Gorgie.

I love big Ange but why’s he sending Bitton and Rogie to Gorgie when the game’s at Parkhead?

The scoreline may have been tight and the winning goal may have been scrappy, but Ange Postecoglou knows his side’s performance in the 2-1 win over Aberdeen was better than the result suggested.

Considering the game came just three days after a late defeat to Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, getting back to winning ways impressed him even more.

With 10 games left to play until the winter break starting in January, the football is coming round at breakneck speed but the Celtic manager is confident his team can continue their unbeaten domestic form.

He said: “Travelling back from Leverkusen was a tough trip physically and emotionally for the players. For me, it was about showing the mental toughness and resilience to bring the same energy levels to a tough opponent in Aberdeen.

Once we knew we were in a cup final, we knew there would be another game jammed in there. We plan, but after that’s set out, it’s about dynamic and treating each day as it comes. Time on the turf is limited because recovery has to be key, but it doesn’t stop you from getting your point across.

“We want to make sure we continue the momentum we have built with our performances and look for positive results. From our perspective, it’s about continuing our positive form over the last 10 games or so in the league.”

Hearts travel to Celtic Park tomorrow (Thursday), having been in excellent form this season, and they currently sit third in the table, after winning promotion from the Championship last year.

The Hoops lost out to Robbie Neilson’s side on the opening game of the season but did atone for that with a 3-2 win at Celtic Park in the League Cup a couple of weeks later.

Celtic are without a loss in domestic competitions since September and Ange Postecoglou says his team has grown since those early meetings with Hearts.

He added: “We’ve definitely evolved from that first game. We literally had Kyogo come to lunch and then was in the squad, and Carl Starfelt was similar.

'We had a rough beginning, but we felt we had to be resilient and not make excuses and we’ve had steady improvements.'

“We’re not putting an endpoint on things, we just want to improve. There’s no chance we’re anywhere near (our maximum) yet, but it’s up to me to make sure the message is consistent that we can always improve should we seek it.

“They’re a good team, have been consistent and have an outstanding goalkeeper who’s been in great form this year.

“As the table shows, they’ve been one of the more consistent sides in the league and have their strengths like all other teams.

"For us, it’s about the football we play. We want to be the team that goes out there and dominates the game and creates opportunities, so the focus is well and truly on us.

Loving the fact that there are fan media in the normal press conferences now! Freshens it up from the usual boring generic FIFA Career Mode questions.

It's clear to me that we don't have the squad (YET!) to play Ange's swashbuckling style. The Bhoys come out and go at it on full tilt boogie mode... and they are out on their feet after 60 mins. We end most matches on the ropes!

Ange HAS to understand that and make concessions in his tactics. If we continue like this, then we are going to have an even more threadbare squad come the January window (through injuries). New signings will barely scratch the surface!

Play your expansive attacking game when we have the players in place to do it Ange!

Right now it smacks of vanity... and I'm not having another disastrous season because one man wouldn't engage his brain!

Hopefully tonight puts to bed the nonsense about how he shouldn’t take Jota or Kyogo off for a rest.
