He'd be better off playing a few games and deciding what offers he gets in the summer.

Don't think this kid ever make it, always something happens when it's about to happen for him, wouldn't be much of a miss as he's hardly played

I can remember that horrible tackle in that pre season "friendly" by that big guy who was kicking anyone in sight. Knew it was a bad one at the time but not as bad as it has turned out (same with big Julien). He's an exciting young player but a bit too small and lightweight and we already have our fare share of those at the club. I would maybe give him one last chance to see if he can make it but I'm not confident he can

Don't think he's got it. He'll sign for Chelsea or City on his big 4/5k a week and be loaned out for a few years until 24/25 before signing for thistle or some *.

Dont think he’s got it but he’ll sign for Chelsea or City?

For what it’s worth I think he will sign for a Championship team most likely.

A good point but they always take youth with talent, wreck it and send them packing eventually. If he goes and signs for a team that plays him then fair play. If he chooses the biggest payer then he knows deep down he ain't making it big and is grabbing the money while his old youth hype allows it.

At least twice and then he disappears again, just a feeling I have

His injury came at the worst possible time for him.
At that point, during pre-season & our early competitive games, we were so short in numbers. Ange was giving all the youth & fringe players a good chance.
He would definitely have got more mins on the pitch than he ever has.

I know all players develop at different rates but you'd hope to have seen more of him.
The high expectations after all his early hype probably doesn't help.
The boy needs game time to really develop. A Jan loan for him wouldn't be the worst shout. (Maybe he won't knock back a loan if its local, Partick?)

Karamoko Dembele will return to Celtic's first-team training next week after long-term injury.

The winger fractured his ankle in pre-season back in July against Bristol City.

He had hoped to be part of the first-team at Parkhead this season as a breakthrough campaign under Ange Postecoglou.

However he suffered a setback and was forced to go back into surgery to heal the issue.

That left the player and fans fearing the worst but Football Scotland understands he will rejoin his teammates next week on the Lennoxtown pitch.

And that will be roughly two weeks ahead of schedule.

Dembele, 18, has been in training alone this past week doing individual work.

The winter break being brought forward by the Scottish Premiership could potentially work in Dembele's favour with him likely to be back in contention for action when the league returns.

Following the initial injury back in Wales when Dembele limped off, manager Ange Postecoglou revealed he hoped to work with the player upon his return.

He said: "He has youth and time on his side so hopefully they will work hard and get back.”

Surprised - and pleased - that he is due to return to training so soon.

There was a fear that he had played his last game for Celtic as he is out of contract in the summer, so reckon he will be doing all he can to prove to Ange he is worth keeping, but also looking to impress any scouts out there also.

Hopefully he makes an impact in training and secures a new contract, his return could be important looked ready in pre-season before that criminal tackle.

The right wing spot is up for grabs at the moment in the team given Forrest’s injury problems. It would be ideal timing for Dembele to get a mid season preseason into him and be ready to go for the restart.

Unfortunately I think it's more about him signing rather than securing a new contract.

Hard for him to get a really decent move without any real first team football, up to the player I guess but Ange would give him a decent platform to showcase his skills.

Tbf teams in England will just make him a well paid under 21 player.

In modern football, who cares about first team football when you can become a millionaire playing U21 football and then fade into obscurity.

Aye, he'll probably still secure a 'decent' move still but just feel two seasons under Ange and the sky could be the limit.

Never been as desperate to see a youth player come in and do the business. We have been built up with excitement watching him grow up at the club. If he is level headed and advised well he will get his head down and get a new contract.

Think, well hope, that he would have been snapped up already by a big club down south already if it was going to happen.

I doubt we'll get through January without any rumours of a precontract being signed. Feels ominously like Hjelde.
