Sneaky board trying to avoid awkward questions by creating unreasonable deadlines…

Rapid increase last few days of shares.

What's the reasoning behind this? A lot more folk paying in to the trust, or has someone's been proxy/gifting shares?

Also, what is the number they need to start making bigger impacts again? I dare say we are still unfortunately a million miles from that level

Today's update means they're not far off being in the top 10 of owners; although still well below 1% and neglible in terms of influence on their own.

The aim has always been to work in tandem with legacy shareholders (who own around 19%) to have a greater voice for supporters.

If the Board push ahead with the Higgins appointment then it might be another catalyst for a push in both aspects.

    So, they do buy shares..

But, shareholders can 'proxy' their shares to them, so they have a bigger voting block..

    I wouldn't get too excited.

The Celtic Trust now hold 170,000 ordinary shares... even setting aside the convertable preferred (CPO) shares, it's just another 54,440,000 ordinary shares @£1.20 each (current market value... or approx £64,380,000... and provided they can find a seller willing to part with them at that current price - and that price only goes up the closer it gets to reaching the magic number of 50.1% needed... and can raise that to provide enough of a voting-eligible majority shareholding block to take control.

Oh, and yeah. combining DD & the current board's holdings, those holdings combined literally only need one of about half a dozen shareholders that currently possess over approx 1.2% of the overall ordinary shares to block any such move.
