I'm pretty sure he made some naive comments about Celtic fans expectations. That irked me a bit.

That’s right!!!!! I was on here trying to justify why something didn’t quite sit right with me about him and was actually starting to second guess myself. But now that you mention it, there was something he said after leaving that annoyed me a bit and left a somewhat bitter taste.

Something along the lines of we can't expect to win the league every year because we were unhappy with the capitulation when going for 10.

He did say that. But think there was more to it. After he left i think he may have touched on the toxicity at the club. And was right in the end.

I think my issue with it was that he seemed to be calling the atmosphere toxic because of the fans. I don't think he was referring to the club structure or coaching set up. He was talking about us and our expectations to win.

Yeah. But I think he did refer once he left about the club being in a bad place....pretty sure coz of the coaching staff at the time
Let's face it....his style and form dipped when lenny started the season

I agree it was in a bad place and wasn't benefiting him. I don't grudge him leaving, but he said this:

“So the criticism Neil Lennon was getting was a bit over the top, because in football, it’s normal.

“I feel like at Celtic, the fans they were so used to winning that when they started going down they didn’t know how to feel about it, but it’s normal to feel like that.”

Actually defending Lennon and obviously didn't understand the enormity of the season.

    https://www.diariogol.com/futbol/fl...o-para-dani-carvajal-y-juega-en-alemania.html

The Real Madrid of Florentino Perez wants to solve once and for all one of the most obvious difficulties of its workforce, we are talking about the right lateral position where naturally white single set has Dani Carvaja l.

In his day, Zinedine Zidane solved the absences of the Spanish right-back by converting the right-handed winger Lucas Vázquez to that position. However, and although Lucas has more than covered what the team demanded of him, it is true that on some occasions his defensive difficulties have made him evident and some of his mistakes have cost Chamartín points points.

This is why Real Madrid would have already chosen the one chosen to come and compete with Carvajal for that position. We are talking about 20-year-old Dutchman Jeremie Frimpong , who currently plays for Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

The young Frimpong was trained in the lower divisions of Manchester City. However , in the citizen team he never found opportunities to reach the first team, that is why in 2019 he packed his bags and left for Celtic in Glasgow, in Scotland he was fundamental in his team and managed to attract the attention of a historical German football.

The powerful Leverkusen opened his doors for the young side last summer and signed a contract that binds him to the aspirin entity until 2025. However, dressing in white would be a dream for the Dutchman for which the operation seems more than viable.

According to the portal specialized in transfers, Transfermarkt, Jeremie Frimpong has a market value of 15 million euros , a figure that would be more than acceptable for the powerful team from the Spanish capital. With Frimpong, Madrid also hopes to fill that position in the medium and long term, as the Dutchman is expected to be able to replace Carvajal in the future.

Not even remotely close to being good enough for Madrid’s bench, even with them at their weakest in several years.

A top coach could turn Frimpong into a great full back/wing back. In terms of modern day football, he is what most teams want. A fantastic athlete, extremely quick and can beat his opponent. The other things required can be improved with a too coach. He has unbelievable potential.
