Aye someone will need to jog my memory of why we're bitter towards him?

More just bitter because of the context in which it happened. Everything had gone to * and he jumped ship after, what, a year and a half. Elhamed leaves at the same time and we’re lumbered with Kenny for the rest of the season.

By contrast I was not in the slightest bit bitter about Tierney or Dembele because A). In my view they had more than warranted a move by the time they’d left. B). They didn’t do it mid season.

He could’ve stayed for 3/4 years and not got a better move than Leverkusen, it’s no his fault he was replaced with Kenny

It's a bizarre mindset to have towards a footballer. What we were "lumbered with" for the rest of the season is no concern of Frimpong's and why should it be? He earned a big move to Leverkusen and we earned a few quid. He owes Celtic nothing.

Not saying it should be his concern. I’m explaining why the move annoyed me given the context in which it took place. Of course it’s his decision and it’s ultimately a professional one. I’m just speaking from MY perspective and why I was slightly irked by him leaving.

Young player with big potential, stuck in a team that was regressing massively under a clueless manager and not getting proper coaching to help his development, I'd have left if I was him.

Dembele forced a move on deadline day but you’re irked by Frimpong getting a move that he might not have got again if he’d stayed on the sinking Lennon ship. Don’t blame any of them.

    Aye, it's bizarre.

Didn't down tools or throw a tantrum for a move. Got us good money and hasn't bad-mouthed the club.

Of all the ex-players to dislike Jeremie ain't it.

I see it a lot with players leaving, and it’s never sat well for me. Most of these guys will have been sold the idea of joining Celtic based on performing well and moving on in a few years.

Frimpong is an especially odd one for me, because even when we were up * creek last season, he was always available, always showed for the ball etc. I remember one game at Ibrox in particular where he was our only player who didn’t completely shrink, and tried to take the game by the scruff of the neck.

Separate issue, but I actually think the modern fan is terrible for asking a lot of players in terms of loyalty and performance, but is so quick to turn on them when those performances show any signs of slipping, or the players dares to look to move on.

I don't have a bad word to say about wee Frimpong in the same way I wouldn't have a bad word to say about Henrik Larsson, KT, Moussa etc. as they were the type of players who always gave their all for the club and no one could blame them for wanting to test their skills on a higher level. The only ex-players I don't like are the soup takers like Walker, Nicholas, Provan and those players who visibly downed tools for us when we needed them most.

Provan didn't down tools...he had an illness that ended his career.

You every right to be irked if you want but to direct that frustration at Frimpong is just bizarre to me

We had Ralston who it seems would have been a capable replacement domestically. The fault lies with a manger bring in an inferior player and sticking with him through thick and thin

I never said he downed tools M8. I put him in along with those other ex-players who have became soup takers such as Walker and Nicholas

Exactly, and even last season I was shouting for that. Honestly there’s some parallel universe where the 0-0 Livingston ends 1-0 with Ralston’s assist from the sitter and Jonjoe Kenny doesn’t play the remaining Hun games where he shat the bed :56:

We were playing Leverkusen and he’s a Leverkusen player.

I wish him no harm now…

It was a pretty good deal for all parties, think we got around £13 million for a player who had one solid season under his belt, and Frimpong got a move to a top Bundesliga side.

He was never going to progress under Lennon, more likely he would have got worse, but imagine him under big Ange? :100:
