They won’t take comfort but it also won’t destroy their confidence or momentum.

It’s clear to everyone there’s a huge gap between the first 11 and the bench.

Winning 2-1 then making 5 subs and losing 3-2 away to a team as good as Leverkusen is a positive for momentum, not a negative. By your logic if he dropped the first team and we got smashed 0-4 again that would’ve been worse, so there’s the reason we started the first team in the first place.

We’re all gutted it wasn’t another big night in Europe but let’s not make it worse than it was because we’re gutted.

Disappointed we couldn’t hold out, even for the draw.Seeing a lot of people slating Ange for the subs and I bet a fair few are the same ones who say the league is the priority.Lack of depth cost us last night and that will get dealt with in just over a months time thankfully. To put a team like Bayer to the sword on their home patch for 80 mins is a big step up from where we’ve been in Europe in years.

Came here to say this, except you said it better. With 3-4 good signings in January, we will do damage in the Conference League and hopefully push on and win the league too.

Not sure what it is but when it comes to corners we cant defend them nor can we score from them(the vast majority of times).
Perhaps its a height issue, either way its defo something we need to address.

Sunday will tell us whether or not it has dented our confidence and momentum. Bottom line is, we shouldn’t have been able to get ourselves 2-1 ahead with 8 minutes to play, and then lose 3-2. Ange changed too much too quickly, and it backfired. Aye it’s easy to take the positives out the game, just like it was away to Betis, but in both games, we didn’t learn anything new. We know we are a good side going forward, but we also still know we are extremely fragile defensively. We need to start seeing games through. It’s ridiculous the amount of times this season we have got ahead in games and not went on to win.

Didn't see the game last night but managed to find highlights on YouTube. Looks like we were picked apart by the better team. No shame at all in that and at the beginning of the season we would have taken mixing it with BL in Germany. Hart had a great game, and some wonderful play for our second goal and a sublime finish. For me, we were just outclassed a bit. Sore to lose two goals in the final 10 mins though, but nothing to be worried about at all.

Players ask to leave the field if injured or exhausted. If you are playing in the game, invested in the game, in the zone, all your adrenalin is up and you are still making a difference in getting a good result and the game is tight - you do not appreciate being taken off.
Anyone who has played in a tight match will understand what I am saying.
The fact that Kyogo turned and bowed to the pitch after he stepped over the touchline says a lot. He has not done that before.
Those of you who do karate know that this is what yo do when you step off the mat. You show respect to your playing area and to your team mates as you are leaving.

It's a coaching issue pure a simple who does the coaching for set pieces in training as they need * chased as just like last season set pieces been a issue and it's no coincidence Kennedy and Strachan is still there and before anyone says he's not the defence coach then who is or do we even have one .

Those German clubs like Bayer L have all those coaching aspects covered . Looking at Frimpong and how he has progressed as a player after being at Celtic is testiment to that - I think he is excellent.

Thought he was Ok last night. Far from being their best player and other than looking a wee bit taller didn't see a huge change from when he was with us.

Jota was quiet though. So maybe had more effect than I'm giving him credit for.

I've seen him doing this before. It's probably just missed mostly by cameras.

We held that record last year as well I think.

Sevco have enough to exploit the same weaknesses as Bayer and Betis have which is why they will win the league sadly

I feel that Hart should have a big say in the set pieces as far as the defence should have extra training in set pieces , even if it is to bring in younger players to take part in the training as forwards .

I wish someone would ask Ang the next time there is a fans forum who is the defence coach at the club as the set pieces is our * downfall and fed up every time a ball comes into the box either from a corner or free kick we lose goals and needs sorted and didn't we lose about 48 per cent of goals from set pieces last season .
